Over the years, it has become a "hidden gem" for some patrons, who praise its consistent quality and delicious offerings. While some reviews mention inconsistencies and recent changes in food quality, others passionately defend its status as a top-tier Chinese restaurant for the price, a place they visit regularly. It’s a place that thrives on its reputation within the immediate community, serving as a reliable source for lunch and dinner for residents and solo diners alike. The experience at China New Wok is all about the food itself, with a straightforward approach that prioritizes a quick and tasty meal.
The menu at China New Wok is a comprehensive list of Chinese-American classics, offering a wide array of options for every taste and craving. You can start with their convenient Lunch Specials, which include a choice of main dish like General Tso's Chicken or Shrimp with Broccoli, often accompanied by rice. The Combination Plates provide a complete meal in one, featuring popular dishes such as Pepper Steak with Onion, Sweet & Sour Chicken, and their much-loved Boneless Spare Ribs. The menu is broken down into specific categories, including Roast Pork, Vegetable dishes, and a Special Diet Menu with steamed options for healthier choices. The Chef's Special section highlights signature dishes like Happy Family, Seafood Combination, and the aforementioned General Tso's Chicken. The restaurant is particularly well-regarded for its chicken wings and pork fried rice, with a loyal customer describing them as "flat out one of the best." The wings, in particular, are noted for being very large. While there are a few negative reviews about recent changes to the food's quality, the overwhelmingly positive feedback from long-term patrons suggests that many people continue to find the food to be excellent and consistently delicious. The menu is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to offering a variety of comfort foods that cater to the tastes of the local community.
### Location and Accessibility
China New Wok is located at 512 E 180th St, Bronx, NY 10457, USA. Its location on East 180th Street places it in a busy urban area of the Bronx. The restaurant's storefront is described as not looking like a "great place from the front," which is typical of many beloved, no-frills neighborhood spots. For customers driving to the location, parking can be a challenge. One review advises against double-parking in front of the bus stop and recommends parking on 3rd Avenue around the corner to pick up your order. This insight is valuable for new customers unfamiliar with the area. As a "place to take out and go," its primary function is convenience. The location is easily accessible by foot for local residents, serving as a quick stop for a satisfying meal. Its central spot in the neighborhood makes it a dependable choice for those living or working nearby, and the ease of phone ordering for pickup further enhances its accessibility.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I don’t know if it’s the trade war but I’m very disappointed in this place. I’ve been eating here over seven years. Food has always been top-tier. Not as for tonight it was Trash, the broccoli was no good. They done switch the rice besides that the pork fried rice taste spoiled, and the beef is like chewing gum. You can’t eat it. I will also be filing a health department complaint. And I pray y’all meat is real because I will be giving my doctor a sample to test. It don’t taste like beef. I post the first bite in one of the pics and still attempt to try it, had to throw it out. Do not travel to this location. They do not deliver so you gotta go here to get it. Do not waste your time!
July 02 · Money GreenThis place is flat out one of the best places for chicken wings and pork fried rice, the boneless spare ribs are ridiculous, very tasty fast and delicious. It's a hidden gem. It's a rare place, and it won't look like a great place from the front.. just a place to take out and go.. but it's so busy that that's why the food is good. There is no other Chinese around or great food around.. this is top-tier Chinese food for the price.. I usually order around $50 to $70 dollars all the time so you can understand the quality of their food. 2 times a month I eat here. They never disappoint everything I eat from here is excellent. Also, tell them to cut the chicken wings they are very large compared to other Chinese restaurants. Their food is flat-out excellent. You won't be disappointed with this establishment. Worst part is parking and it's in front of a bus stop(please) don't double park there the bus will take a picture of your plates. Park on 3rd Ave around the corner and pick upyour order.
