Lived in fresno for years and this is the first time I’ve ever been here! It was incredible. The food was so wonderful and delicious. However, service wasn’t GREAT… took about 10 min for us to get seated even though there was room for just us two.. and the waiters took forever to get our order and then bring the food… either way, I would absolutely eat there again because the food was amazing.

My Favorite Japanese Spot!Shobu never disappoints. Their Specialty Rolls menu is hands-down my favorite—every visit is a treat. The Rolls Royce, Dynamite, and Jerry’s Special are absolutely delicious, packed with flavor and always made fresh. You can tell they take pride in every dish that comes out.The service is just as impressive—friendly, attentive, and always welcoming. Whether it’s a takeout or a relaxing night out, Shobu hits the spot every time. Highly recommended!

Shobu Japanese Cuisine, a highly successful Japanese-Hmong sushi restaurant in Fresno, has been owned & operated by Jerry Yang for over 15 years, the 2007 World Series of Poker champion! Also met a couple of friends at the same place! Overall, the food and ambience were top-notch 🔥

The shoyu and tonkatsu ramen were delicious. The broth flavor was delicious and flavorful, the noodle wasn't too cooked or soft. I drank the broth and cleaned the bowl.The fried rice (spicy) was delicious. A tad bit on the greasy side, but the kick of spice and flavor of the bacon and meat was a proper balance to the rice and veggies. I'm a huge fried rice and ramen so I was thoroughly impressed with both dishes.Service was great! Waitress came around and checked on us and even refilled our water cup. The restaurant atmosphere is nice. Good/decent music playing to drown conversations between tables and good lighting all around.Would definitely come back to try other dishes and the sushi.

Rich and bursting with flavor, it feels like a warm hug in a bowl, and the portions are generously comforting.I indulged in the baked salmon roll and found myself wishing for a never-ending supply—it was that scrumptious! The service had a leisurely pace, but trust me, every minute was worth it. The sushi chef is a true magician, crafting rolls that are not just tasty but also infused with a sprinkle of kindness. If you’re craving sushi, this spot is a whimsical treasure waiting to be uncovered!
