The Post Beer & Wine Garden Introduce
For Houstonians in search of a welcoming and unpretentious spot to unwind, The Post Beer & Wine Garden has quickly become a local favorite. This bar and grill, located in the Sunset Heights area, is the brainchild of owners Tashi and Rebecca Garcia, who transformed an old cantina into a cozy and trendy gathering place for neighbors and friends. The name "The Post" is a tribute to its origin and a nod to the fact that all of their steaks are cooked over a wood-fired grill, using post oak wood. The venue perfectly balances the feel of a classic bar with the culinary focus of a quality restaurant. It's a place where you can grab a quick and delicious meal, enjoy a wide selection of drinks, or simply hang out with a group of friends. The atmosphere is casual, cozy, and inviting, making it a comfortable spot for any occasion. The commitment to a friendly and community-oriented vibe is evident in every detail, from the decor to the attentive staff.
While the name highlights beer and wine, the food program at The Post Beer & Wine Garden is a major draw. The menu is concise but impactful, taking "bar classics and amp them up a bit." From hearty burgers to premium wood-fired steaks, the culinary offerings are anything but standard bar food. What makes the place even more appealing are its special weekly events, such as Tuesday Steak Night and Wednesday Pasta Night, which provide great value and a reason to come back again and again. Beyond the food, the bar is known for its excellent beverage program. The wine list focuses on unique, limited-production, old-world wines, while the beer selection is a mix of approachable classics and local craft finds. This is a spot that encourages you to explore new flavors in a setting that feels like a friend's living room, as the owners intended. It's a place where you can feel at home while enjoying top-notch food and drinks.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place was amazing. I absolutely loved the brie grilled cheese sandwich, fries were on point, and let me tell you, that bartender was so awesome. I think his name was Sergio? He was so friendly and fun. He lowered the music for us so we could hear ourselves talk, and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Our group had so much fun here. It was our first time but I will be sure to recommend it to anyone in the area
August 10 · Keely McGrewI love local places like this, where the patrons and staff are fun and interesting, and the food is really good. I rarely get a steak but was in the neighborhood and it was steak night, so ‘when in Rome’. The NY Strip and salad were both really good. The filet looked good, as did the burger.

February 15 · Abby SantiagoUnpretentious and homey ambiance, fantastic food, interesting wine list. Service is personal & attentive, always with a worthwhile suggestion. The brie grilled cheese is a contender for the best sandwich in Houston.
August 18 · Jim ZeiglerThe BEST hidden spot in the Heights ! I know we all want to keep it a secret but you got to see it to believe it!! Would not know from outside but the VIBE is great after work ! My fav the tacos but everyone talks about the steak and the burgers. I run here after a hard day ! I love that they remember you and bring your favorite bottle ready and tastee !!!! Don’t crowd when I’m here please but do come because it’s the spot ! Prices are on point and low but who care because the food taste so good who cares !
