The menu at Veg’d Out is a treasure trove of delicious plant-based options, but some items have received special praise from customers. For a satisfying, hearty meal, the various "Shroom" sandwiches are a must-try. The OG Shroom and Spicy Buffalo Shroom sandwiches are particularly popular, celebrated for their crispy, well-seasoned, and non-greasy mushrooms served on a pretzel bun. They are a world apart from typical processed substitutes and a true highlight. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This was my first time trying vegan food and I was surprised by how much flavor it had. My favorites were the tuna, mac-n-cheese and the chop’t cheese. As someone that is not familiar with this lifestyle, they made it easy for me to order food and was very patient with my questions. The artwork on the wall is amazing as well. It’s designed as a take out but had seating where I was able to eat my food on the spot! This was a wonderful introduction to vegan food options.
May 18 · Hakiem GeorgeToday was our first visit to Veg’d Out in New Rochelle and it won’t be our last. I was so excited to hear that delivery will also be available on Uber Eats as we live about thirty minutes from the location. I had heard about it on a local foodie page and knew I had to take my vegan daughter. We decided to dine in at one of the two tables so we could eat everything hot from the kitchen. My daughter loved the decor, noting it was cool, urban, and had a feel “like the city”, while I liked the cleanliness. As we waited for our food, we got to talking to Alan, the owner. What a nice guy and what a visionary! A vegan himself, he created the concept for the restaurant… delicious, healthy, plant based ingredients that satisfies a craving for comfort food. We each had a different variety of their shroom sandwiches, one was the simple OG and the other the spicy Buffalo (wasn’t too spicy) and our eyes rolled at how good they were. Mushrooms that were seasoned, crispy, and not at all greasy, with great toppings on aPretzel bun (my favorite) really hit the spot. They were a world apart from those processed fried chicken substitutes you get at the supermarket. The price was so reasonable too, I think the sandwiches were about $12. The only thing I’ve had that compares was at a fancy vegan restaurant in Manhattan and the sandwich there was close to 30 bucks! I was ready to try their pulled jackfruit sandwich but it was sold out so it must be good and I’ll try it next time. We tried the Mac n cheez. I’m not vegan and don’t usually care for plant based cheese but this was so yummy, because it was its own thing, a great balance of savory and touch creamy. We also had the loaded fries that were like those late night chili fries you might have at a diner. The ground mushrooms tasted completely different from the mushrooms on the sandwiches so my fear of getting mushroomed out was for nothing. They complimented the caramelized onions, cheez, and Buffalo sauce to perfection. We got a delicious chocolate chip cookie (would never guess it was vegan) to go. I’m not a frequent reviewer but when I experience a place that is new, different, and really goes above and beyond expectations I have to share.
June 26 · Tricia GFinally !!! An all vegan spot in lower Westchester ! The food and service beyond exceeded my expectations. This place is a must try. Easily accessible from 95 so even if you’re just passing through I encourage you to stop by.We had the Chopped cheese, loaded fries and the Buffalo Mac and could not choose a favorite because they were all 10/10!! The real star of all 3 of the dishes were the way they transform mushrooms into vegan “meat”. This comfort food left me feeling full and energized instead of gross and sleepy like other vegan comfort food experiences I’ve had.The owner Alen was very friendly and hospitable and was happy to chat with us.Best of luck to you guys!! We will be regulars ❤️😬
June 17 · Lauren RyanSo happy I found this spot! I’ve lived in Westchester for over 10 years and vegan restaurants here are rare—usually you have to go into the city. But Veg’d Out is a total gem.The owner and staff are the sweetest, and he makes everything from scratch. Best part? NO SOY 🙌 (thank heavens!).I ordered the Buffalo Shroom and wow… the mushroom + sauce = perfection. Exactly what I was craving.
August 23 · Renae Pinkthe sandwich I got was really small. the mushroom patty was maybe 60% of the size of the bread. so a lot of bites were just bread. saw pictures of other people's buffalo mushroom sandwich online, it definitely wasn't like the one I got. And it was really salty. not sure if it's just an off day. but when I unwrapped it out of the bag, I can already tell it's super light. Service and staff were nice and she explained the menu a lot.
