The menu at Bar Mercer offers a delicious selection of refined dishes, and a few items stand out as must-tries. For starters, the Crispy Fried Oysters and Grilled Prawns are highly recommended. A customer review specifically mentions getting a "dozen oysters which were super fresh," and another mentions the grilled gambas, reinforcing the quality of their seafood.
For main courses, the Filet Au Poivre is a classic and refined choice, perfect for a special occasion. The Seared Whole Branzino is another excellent option, showcasing the restaurant’s skill with fish. However, for a truly satisfying and classic choice, the Mercer Burger is a crowd-pleaser. Beyond the main dishes, the sides are not to be overlooked, with the Pomme Frites and Roasted Cauliflower offering delicious complements to any entree.
The bar menu is equally compelling. The cocktails are a major draw, and while the menu is creative, a simple order like their "house wine" can be surprisingly good. The "funkiness" of the vibe and music, as one reviewer put it, creates a unique atmosphere that adds to the overall enjoyment. The professionalism of the staff, from the host Amaris who was an "absolute gem" to the server Marco who was a "complete professional," is consistently highlighted in reviews. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Stopped in after realizing that the former Bar Tulix reopened as Bar Mercer. Got a dozen oysters which were super fresh, grilled gambas, and a few cocktails. They had a decent selection of wines and champagne at the usual Soho prices. Even their house wine though was very good, nice and light and not too sweet. Overall really great. Kind of a funky vibe inside in terms of the decor and music which I enjoyed. It felt “different” in a good way. Will definitely be back to try more of their food!
May 25 · John COur hostess Amaris was an absolute gem, she warmly accommodated our walk in at a busy time and was very charming. If it wasn’t for her flexibility in navigating our odd-sized group (5), we may not have been sat. Our server, Marco, was a complete professional, everything came out quick and on point.Bar Mercer is an inviting take on new American dining and drinks. A much needed refresh from the previous format of this location - this is a place to check out now! Was the perfect drinks and apps drop off point for me and my boys after a day of shopping in soho. Next time I’ll bring my girl for dinner!I will be frequenting this place more. Loved the vibe!
May 10 · Alex SchullCame here for a drink/cocktail after a movie and this place is so beautiful inside. We sat at the bar and had two stunningly great cocktails. I got the Sour Patch sour (I believe it was called) and it’s phenomenal. It was a bourbon drink with a taste of pear and ginger honey. My husband got the margarita which was also very very good, and had carrot juice in it was such a different but layered taste to the drink. The vibes are stellar for a date night and the staff was so so nice and helpful. Def recommend, especially if you’re looking for a drink stop post movie outing!
May 31 · Erin LocascioFabulous food and drinks. Steak au poivre was some of the best I’ve ever had!
August 16 · Sarah Louise RhodesIf you like dining at Lure this is an alternative option. Really enjoyed the branzino and hangover pasta. Deviled eggs and oysters were also very good. The berries dessert wasn’t my favorite but I’d be back to try the chocolate crème brûlée.
