★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Overall excellent!Straightforward and small menu, everything came perfectly prepared, especially for a surprisingly large restaurant.Fish preparation was lovely, along a the fine-dining bouillabaisse sauce. Pasta ragu was delicious and roasted beets were refreshingly creative.Very fair prices! No complaints, a great meal and nice location.
August 04 · Matt BonaccorsoAs a French person I can recommend this place with my eyes closed - the food was incredible and really tasted like home. You can find classic dishes with a more modern twist and the wine list was incredible!A huge thanks to Caleb and Josh for an amazing experience. I will come again merci
July 08 · Isaine BlatryWe went to summer restaurant week and the food was the best French we’ve had in the city! We got the kale salad with truffle croquettes to start. Kale salad was so refreshing and coquettes had that thin, crispy outside and gooey inside! For entrees we got the branzino which was SO crisp and flavorful especially alongside the green beans! Perfectly balanced between flavorful and light. coq au vin was to die for - definitely on the richer side. The chocolate mousse and rice pudding was good but not as hard hitting as the other courses. Super recommend!
August 04 · Gwen GThis is an absolutely beautiful spot and would be perfect for a romantic date! It looks like someone's house and is so cozy and intimate. I came for dinner on a weekday and although we had a reservation, we could have gotten by walking in. The happy hour wines are only $8 and are delicious and smooth. The French onion soup is a must-have, definitely one of the best in the city! We also started with the crispy artichokes and truffle croquettes; they were both good, but I preferred the artichokes because I loved the sauce. I had the squash and bitter greens salad and it was amazing. I would love to come back and sit in the garden room next time.
March 25 · Carly LukSecond visit April 2025 (see below for first visit)This West Village converted townhouse has a surprising amount of seating on the second floor. First the good news, our dishes were pretty good, the burger, the tagliatelle and scallop risotto (burger was the weakest of the three, but not bad, at $28 fully priced). Our Thursday night 7 pm reservation was ready when we arrived. The busboy team was working hard, water refills were efficient and plates cleared promptly. Drinks were good. Some other observations: the restaurant seemed popular with lots of groups of very loud women, like ear splitting loud. We found ourselves yelling to be heard, not exactly a chill vibe. The floor has high ceilings but the problem is worsened by all hard surfaces. Not sure how many tables he had but our server didn’t get to us for about 15-20 minutes. Appetizer came out quickly and drinks but long delay for entrees, more than 30-40 minutes. Not acceptable. On balance the restaurant is ok but I prefer places where I can have a conversation.FIRST VISIT 2023 ->Stopped in for a late brunch. Nice old building in the west village, below street level. The front room has a low ceiling and we were close to a large table that overpowered the room with loud talking. I imagine that on a busy weekend evening it must be difficult to have a conversation in that room. We had a pleasant server who was working hard but it took a while for us to get our orders. The brunch was very tasty.
