Casa Restaurant Introduce
In the vibrant tapestry of New York City's dining scene, few places offer a more authentic and heartwarming experience than Casa Restaurant. Tucked away in a historic Tribeca building, this women-owned business has become a beloved destination for those seeking genuine Brazilian comfort food. The name "Casa," which means "home" in Portuguese, perfectly captures the restaurant's essence: a warm, inviting, and cozy space that feels like a family kitchen, providing a true taste of Brazil in the heart of Manhattan.
The atmosphere at Casa is a blend of trendy and romantic, with a focus on creating a comfortable and intimate setting. It's a place where you can relax and savor a meal, whether you're on a date or with a group of friends. The menu is a celebration of Brazilian classics, from traditional stews to delicious appetizers, all prepared with the kind of care and authenticity that has garnered rave reviews from both local diners and Brazilian expats. Patrons consistently praise the food for being delicious and true to its roots, with one review noting that it's "shockingly amazing and authentic."
Beyond the food, Casa is also a destination for its exceptional drink offerings. The bar serves up a variety of great cocktails, including a wide selection of caipirinhas—Brazil’s national cocktail—made with cachaça, a spirit distilled from fermented sugarcane juice. The wine list is also extensive, featuring great selections that complement the rich and flavorful cuisine. The combination of its authentic dishes, great drinks, and welcoming atmosphere makes Casa a unique and essential part of the New York dining landscape, offering a memorable escape to Brazil without ever leaving the city.
Casa Restaurant is situated at 157 Duane Street, in the charming and historic Tribeca neighborhood. This area is known for its cobblestone streets and converted industrial buildings, creating a unique and desirable backdrop for a dining experience. The restaurant's location on Duane Street makes it easily accessible from various parts of downtown Manhattan, and its cozy, intimate setting provides a peaceful retreat from the city's hustle and bustle.
Accessibility to Casa is convenient for those using public transportation. The restaurant is within walking distance of several major subway stations, including Chambers Street (A, C, E, 1, 2, 3 lines), making it a stress-free trip from many parts of the city. While paid street parking is available, as is typical in New York, it can be limited. For a more relaxed experience, public transit is the recommended option. Due to its popularity, especially on weekend evenings, making reservations is highly recommended to secure a table, as the restaurant can get quite busy.

When you're looking for a memorable meal, Casa Restaurant offers a variety of dishes and drinks that are well worth choosing. The menu is a journey through Brazilian cuisine, and while many dishes are fantastic, some are particularly beloved by diners. The Strogonoff de Alcatra is a standout, praised by a Brazilian family for its perfect and authentic taste. Another must-try is the Feijoada, the national dish of Brazil, a hearty black bean stew with prime meats served with traditional sides like rice, collard greens, and sliced oranges. Casa also offers a popular vegan version of the feijoada, demonstrating their commitment to catering to different dietary needs.
From the appetizer menu, the Pastel de Queijo Coalho and Bolinhos de Bacalhau are excellent small plates to share. The main courses, such as the Filé de Peixe com Banana Frita e Abobrinha Refogada and the Moqueca de Frutos do Mar, offer a great variety of flavors for seafood lovers. The drinks menu is also a major highlight, with the caipirinhas being an absolute must-order. The "original" Lime Caipirinha is a classic, but the "special" caipirinhas with unique flavor combinations like lime, ginger, and honey are worth exploring. The service is often described as amazing, with the staff taking the time to explain the menu with "genuine kindness," ensuring that even first-time visitors feel comfortable and well-cared for. This combination of authentic, high-quality food, a welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service makes Casa a truly special dining experience that you’ll want to return to again and again.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I came here with my Brazilian family and everyone was shocked at how amazing and authentic the food tasted! I got the beef stroganoff and it was perfect! Definitely coming back.
July 26 · Denise TorloniMy memory contains no equal to what I experienced here. Simply amazing food and service. Their team explains options clearly with genuine kindness. i can confirm the experience met expectations. I suggested this good spot to many.
August 17 · Ivan PoljakovLow-lit but cosy Brazilian spot in tribeca with authentic cuisine and a newly introduced cocktail menu including those tasty caiprinhas. The feijoda reminds me of the dishes back in Brazil but the stroganoff is especially memorable in its own right. Great to share with family and friends.
January 25 · Rovik RobertBrazilian favourite Casa Restaurant has reopened in TriBeCa and I’m pleased to report that its soulful traditional homey authentic Brazilian food and atmosphere were transported into a bigger charming welcoming venue. The food: we tried Caldo Verde and Casquinha de Siri to start, Bobo de Camarão and Wild caught fish with traditional rice and beans as main, Sorvete de Milho com canela and a Pudim de leite variation to finish our meal. The menu is quintessentially Brazilian, and so varied that it is hard to decide as we kept going back and forth wanting to order everything. Menu contains all the classics: pão de queijo, feijoada (including a vegan version), pastéis, brigadeiros, etc etc if you’re Brazilian, you know it.Restauranteur and owner Jupira was on site constantly giving personal attention to all tables, the staff is fantastic.Definitely “the” place for Brazilian food, great night out guaranteed.
November 05 · Koo ChoCasa is back and better. The menu is bigger and so are the flavors! So happy they've re-opened. Sure to be a neighborhood staple once again. The moqueca was outrageous 🤌
