The heart of Chimi Luisa's menu is its namesake, the chimi burger. A chimi, or chimichurri, is a classic Dominican street food sandwich that is a unique and flavorful experience. Unlike a traditional American burger, it's often made with a seasoned, juicy meat patty and topped with a variety of shredded cabbage, tomatoes, onions, and a special house sauce, all served on a soft bun. As one reviewer noted, it is "the best" they've had, and for good reason—it’s a taste of authenticity that is hard to replicate. The chicken chimi, in particular, is a customer favorite that "never disappoints."
Beyond the chimis, the menu is a celebration of Dominican fritura. The list of fried meats is mouthwatering, with options like Chuleta (pork chop), Longaniza (Dominican sausage), and Carnita De Cerdo (fried pork meat). The Pica Pollo, a fried chicken dish, is another major highlight, with options for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 pieces, ensuring you can get the perfect portion for your craving. The accompanying sides, or "Acompañamientos," are also essential to the experience. You can choose from classic options like Tostones Fritos (fried plantains) or Papa Frita (french fries). The traditional Yuca Hervida (boiled yuca) and Batata Frita (fried sweet potato) are also great choices that complement the main dishes perfectly. The Yaroas, which are a mix of meat and fries with sauces, are another popular item that is worth trying.
What truly makes Chimi Luisa so worth choosing is its ability to deliver an authentic, high-quality, and satisfying meal in a simple, no-fuss environment. The reviews from a loyal, long-time customer and a visitor willing to travel back speak volumes about the quality and consistency of the food. It's not about a "fancy feast," but about "flavor and authenticity." For anyone in New York looking for a genuine taste of Dominican fast food, Chimi Luisa is a must-visit. It's a place that not only serves great food but also holds a special place in the hearts of many, making it a true neighborhood treasure.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Best Fritura and Chimi I’ve had in well, FOREVER. Just like DR type fritura. Very flavorful. Will drive back here again anytime I’m in the city. It’s worth it. To the people who I see complaining about size, seriously get over it. It’s a small(tiny) hole in the wall with lots of flavor and authenticity. This is not for fancy feasts. It’s FRITURA MI GENTE!
March 29 · Really Enticing Desserts R.E.D. Chef SueThis has been my favorite place to eat chimi's since I was young. When I visit NY I love to come here and it reminds me of my childhood. Its the same taste everytime and they never disappoint. My favorite is the chicken chimi. If your ever in New York give them a try. The service is wonderful as well.
January 28 · Dee AbreuFelt like home, the bolas de yuca and quipes can be a bit small. The Chimis are solid, clean and flavorful.
June 23 · Kenneth Henriquez50 dollars for a 20 dollar plate of fritura is outrageous, I have never been so fooled🤦🏻♂️
July 21 · Ric RugarUnhealthy delicious food, check the menu and you will know what I mean. No table, all year round take out only. Be specific when ordering they have standard way of making the food and may not be the way you use to eat it in other places. You may find prices a bit high depending on your budget.
