★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The fried chicken here….. the fried chicken HEEERRREEEE! Come get some! If you haven’t experienced Dominican street food, come taste the island. You should wait for the fresh chicken to be placed out. Sooo worth the wait. The ladies that work there are lovely ( Dominican hospitality, what can I say) but ordering here was a little confusing and intimidating. You have to pass the food and then get in a line to receive it. Since I’m not confrontational a few people went in front of me since there is no formal line. But it helped because as I waited the new batch came out( like I said… so worth the wait)Update!!! We came back on a weekday early evening! There was no one in line and the food was piping hot! The cashier seems to have something personal going on but all the ladies were very nice and welcoming! Such great food, well seasoned pica pollo (fried chicken) and fresh fried tostones ( plantains). They also offer Dominican fried rice (chofan) and French fries. The ambiance today, they are playing great Dominican classic bachata + salsa and PLAYING DOMINOS!!!! Best Dominican street food
August 01 · Anmarie MercedesIf you never had the famous Pica Pollo Dominicano you are missing up on life. The fried chicken recipe of Dominican is better that the Korean one :D. I came over here as it been on my social media feed for a while and I was looking forward to try it.The atmosfer of this is place is like any Dominican Restaurant with light and nice Music. Over here you pay before eating as similar to a chimi truck. The food and service was pretty fast and the casher was super friendly.I had the three pieces with tostones. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection goldenish brown and incredibly crunchy on the outside, while remaining juicy and very tender on inside. The seasoning had the same taste of the one I used to eat back in Dominican Republic, crushing, well season and super delicious, the tostones were fresh and well made. I will suggest adding salts and ketchup that will give the extra touch.
January 15 · Gerardo AponteTried some good ol' Dominican 🇩🇴 food tonight, up in dykeman. Bought some chicken tenders with pepper sauce and tostones... it solid stars, and they even have a dance floor in the back of their restaurant
July 06 · Mike LSo far the best fried chicken in NYC!!! I’m not really a Fried Chicken person, but this chicken is so well fried and crispy!! The sazón is on point A+++ until today ☺️😌😋. I really recommend D’La Para Pica Pollo. However, you may expect and find a big line due high demand, be prepared for it.
April 28 · LISSETTE PACHECOHonestly, great food but horrible service. Don't come here expecting to get any of the delicious food sitting there staring at you when you walk in, within any immediate time frame. I've ordered from countless restaurants in NYC for decades and never before walked away scratching my head at how weird it is to do so here.Yet at the same time, it feels like some people know how to work the line/employees and still manage to do just that: in and out right away. But don't worry, that will never be you. You, my friend, will waste time waiting on the wrong line not sure where to order and pay because the way they do it here is just backwards. With the yelling back and forth between the employees and the general commotion during a peak period, you'll be thanking the stars you're not one of those sensory sensitive people they make all those warnings for. Finally after you've been overstimulated, worked up a diet, and put aside the headache it was to get to this point: you will finally eat some decent fries/tostones with really delicious pica pollo. BTW, fun fact but despite the name, as I was told multiple times by an employee, ellos "no pican nada." So make sure you bring a knife to cut up the chicken into bite-sized pieces for your little ones. Enjoy!PS While the cost of two meals with four pieces of chicken was pretty decent (family of four cost $26) I strong advise you not to buy anything to drink there. The cost of a small 12oz chinola was unconscionable - make sure you ask for pricing before opening any drinks!
