★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My father took me here 50 years ago. They wrote the menu on a paper bag and hung it on the wall. They have a menu now for those who need it. Great southern Italian food at reasonable prices. They use san marzano tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil which are the highest quality ingredients. I highly recommend a visit.
July 15 · Anthony Daria“I have eaten as much as I can, not as much as I want to, but as much as I can.”Per a son on the verge of summer break at Dominick’s Italian on Arthur Street, Bronx. The mussels starter with tomatoes sauce was outstanding. Omg. I usually only eat mussels with butter and garlic but I am converted!Ossobuco, Roast Pork and Cabbage, and Lamb Chops were truly excellent. The steak was declared very good (and fully consumed). The potatoes with the steak were fine but not life changing. This might be because the dishes were on the upper range of perfectly salty. By contrast the potatoes were not salted. One sits family style, sharing tables for 8 (or 12) with other patrons. On a gentler day we might have made some new friends, but we came hungry and impatient today. We love this style of eating, and have been here before.Highly recommended!
May 22 · sweeta babeetaA friend had recommended this place and so we tried it. It’s definitely a no-frills kind of environment so you definitely don’t go for the service. They are very fast and efficient but it feels more of an effort to flip the table. We sat downstairs, but there’s also a large area upstairs that had seating and was a lot quieter. The dishes are HUGE and 2-3 people could split a main dish with the portion sizes. The chicken Parmesan hit the spot and I’d come back for that alone. We also tried the stuffed artichoke, but it wasn’t great.
May 04 · World TravelerCozy family style restaurant serving authentic southern Italian cuisine. Started in 1962, this place is where people come from near and far, the owner Charlie greets all customers warmly with a pleasant smile! If you are looking for a family style comfort food experience this is your go to place!
June 22 · Sushamavisiting from seattle...we walked in after a yankees game and were immediately greeted and sat. all staff members were very nice and attentive; they treat you like family. food was delicious--we tried the eggplant rollatini, stuffed artichoke, and a chicken dish i can't remember...also my drink was perfectly mixed. i will be back!
