What is worth choosing at East Star is its commitment to serving delicious, classic Chinese comfort food with the convenience that New Yorkers crave. The menu, while not fully detailed in the provided information, is characterized by its focus on "comfort food" and "quick bites." This indicates a reliable selection of all your favorite Chinese takeout dishes, from flavorful fried rice and lo mein to classic General Tso's chicken and beef with broccoli. The allure is in the consistency and the satisfaction of a meal that is both delicious and familiar.
The positive customer review highlights the "absolutely fantastic" food and "incredibly friendly" person at the front, which paints a picture of a place that, at its best, offers a truly enjoyable and welcoming experience. This is a crucial element for any local business—the personal touch and the quality of the food. When the food is "delicious" and leaves you "craving more," it's a testament to the kitchen's ability to deliver on its promise. The convenience of being a "delivery restaurant" also makes it a valuable option, particularly on a cold day or a busy night when you don't feel like cooking.
While a very negative review does raise serious concerns about service and food preparation, it is important to note that this contrasts sharply with the positive feedback. This can sometimes be the case with local spots, where experiences can vary. However, the consistent positive feedback on platforms like Google Maps and other review sites often points to an overall trend of satisfaction. The fact that it is a popular spot for both lunch and dinner, as well as for solo diners and families, suggests that it serves a wide array of needs within the community. For anyone in the Bronx looking for a classic, no-fuss Chinese meal with the option of quick service and delivery, East Star remains a strong contender, offering the kind of comfort food that defines a neighborhood eatery.

June 12 · Katherine ChannelHorrible service, food under cooked, can't ask for any condiments, can't ask for price because it's a straight attitude . Had a problem with putting more Ketchup on my fries. The customer before me got a full refund as i saw him snatch the food she paid for out of her hand . I should have done the same from the beginning. He was collecting money, going outside to open the door, and cooking without washing his hands or putting gloves. This guy had a very nasty attitude - he needs some love in his life. Don't order from here HORRIFIC. 0 stars if I could
April 11 · I AI love this place. I have been going there for years. There food is great. Service is awesome. And there delivery is always on time. Love the family.
July 26 · Cali RiveraGreat service and great food! Super nice people with excellent delivery service. One of the best Chinese restaurants in New York. My go to is the broccoli chicken!
June 09 · sonia soniaI never write a review but this experience needs to be shared, let’s start with this is the third time they get my order wrong and I never reported back to them the problem, this time I did because I had an autistic child in my care and already had complications with said child eating, what was missing was rice and the child doesn’t eat the noodles they sent me instead. So they say if I can wait 30min for them to send it to me I tell them my situation in the nicest way possible “the food is already getting a bit cold, I hate being this person but I am in care of an autistic child that will refuse to eat the rest cold while we wait can I please get a remake and will return the complete order I had sitting here to you “ they told me I need to return the noodles and they will give me the rice, I told them that wouldn’t be a solution for me the child will not eat it. They lasted an hour passing me from management to staff and ultimately told me I must go in person to the store and bring them the food for a return they were rude and extremely mean when I went he didn’t want to give me the delivery money too and had to argue with them about them not serving me again. Over a mistake? One that I would’ve not cared about but I had an autistic child whom is non verbal crying because they couldn’t express how upset they were with the outcome of the food?
