So, what is truly worth choosing at Eko Suya Spot? The restaurant's most celebrated items are a fantastic place to start. A review from a satisfied customer highlights the "pounded yam to go with egusi soup with mixed meat" as a finger-licking good and well-cooked dish. Egusi soup, a Nigerian classic thickened with ground melon seeds, is a hearty and flavorful experience that pairs perfectly with the starchy, satisfying pounded yam. Another must-try is the suya itself. While the provided data notes that suya may not be the traditional street-side version, it is still described as flavorful and well-cooked. The fish with red soup is also noted for being delicious, showcasing the restaurant's versatility beyond its meat dishes.
What truly sets this establishment apart is the authentic taste that many have compared to "Granny's recipes," a high compliment that speaks to the food's quality and traditional preparation. The ability to customize dishes, such as requesting a less spicy version of a typically fiery meal, is another reason why Eko Suya Spot is a great choice for both newcomers and seasoned fans of African cuisine. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Great low key spot. Pleasant team - I hope they upkeep their services.Food reminds me of my Granny recipes lol - Simply the best. Value for money and service excellence.Opening hours varies, be sure to confirm open hours before you make that trip. It’ll be nice to see door-dash deliveries/ take-out on their google adds.Dinning area can conveniently seat 15 - 30 guests. It’s my favorite Afro-American and frankly budget friendly.
April 11 · Patrick OladipoFirst off the gentleman that greeted us when we came in was very professional and welcoming. He was patient with us explaining the different dishes' taste and flavor. He was also able to convey to the kitchen our need to eat less spicy. Not related to us, but I was very impressed with his handling of impatient customers: professionally but practically. We ordered the pounded yam to go with egusi soup with mixed meat, suya, fish with red soup. All these three dishes were finger licking 😋level and well cooked. In my opinion the mixed meat portion could have been larger. If you are visiting the Bronx, I highly recommend. I know I will hit that spot again to try other items on the menu
July 31 · Monia&Eve LifeI discovered them online and called for home delivery. Even though I was outside their delivery scope, they went above and beyond. The food is 10/10 and they can customize to your taste buds. I recommend the jollof, moimoi, edikaikong, efo riro ... well, I recommend everything. 😃I also managed to visit their location once and it is a nice cozy place.Yes, the wait time for the meals are long because they are prepared fresh but it is 100% worth it.I hope the standards are kept that way for a longtime.
July 12 · Toyin AdejumoThe suya was just ok. Could have been better if they use higher quality meat. But i can tell this meat is lower grade. Food also took too long to come out. Everything else was good.
July 01 · Alfred “Wayne”The Food her is amazing! I've been searching for some good Suya in be Bronx for a long time. I even bought suya from esty but theres nothing like freshly made suya. The meat has the perfect spice and they have amazing Jolof rice!
