4 stars for a 4 star experience. The place is a little small. Not a lot of tables inside. It was busy at lunch time so tables were scarce. You order at a counter but yet they expect a tip. Why? You have to come get your own food and own drink.The food is okay. I tried several tacos. They were good but not great. They just lacked really good flavor that I get at my favorite taqueria.I'd come back but I wouldn't drive to it from my home which is 20 plus miles away.

Haven’t been here in a minute but it’s still as good as it ever was. I love the gotta Diablo and my partner always get the shredded chicken torta. The restaurant is always so clean and the employees always nice and helpful. I also love their chicken tortillas soup especially when I’m sick. A Houston tradition! ❤️

This have been the worse experience I’ve had in this restaurant. Firstly, they gave me the wrong burrito, and secondly I found a hair on my burrito.Super disappointed with the service and the food.

It’s alright, but now it’s the same price to go to el tiempo. This last taco Tuesday was the straw that broke the camels back. I’ve been coming to el Rey for over 10 years now and since the ever increasing prices I found myself only going on Tuesdays. But still it was 10$ for 3 tacos. And I was just informed they increased it to 12$. I told the cashier girl to tell her manager that they lost a long time customer over this. But I doubt she did so I wanted to write a review and to tell others. I do feel bad about the 3 star review, as I’ve been coming here for years and not writing a review…but this is because of the price. The service and food is always good. Just rather go to a nice sit down restaurant w these prices
