What is truly worth choosing at El Tina Riverdale Restaurant is the combination of its authentic Dominican cuisine and its impressive seafood selection. While some reviews mention mixed experiences, the positive feedback often highlights the genuine flavors that make the restaurant a favorite. The complimentary Sancocho and bread, as mentioned by one customer, is a great touch that showcases their hospitality. Another customer praised the authenticity and flavor of the Shrimp Mofongo with creamy garlic sauce, even though it was a little dry for their taste. The "Beef Yaroa" was described as "amazing" and "similar to Lasagna," pointing to the quality and unique flavor profiles of their dishes. The "Morir Soñando," a traditional Dominican drink, was so good it was finished in "two seconds," a true sign of its quality.
Their seafood menu is a major draw, with a wide variety of options that showcase a fresh and authentic approach. Dishes like "Camarones A La Criolla" (Shrimp in Creole Sauce) and "Pescado Colorado" (Red Snapper) offer a taste of the Caribbean sea. For those looking for a truly indulgent meal, the "Cola de Langosta Rellena Con Camarones" (Lobster Tail Stuffed with Shrimp) is a standout option. Their "Seafood Special Combos" are particularly appealing, providing a mix of fried fish, shrimp, and calamari at a great value. The restaurant's ability to offer a massive menu with everything from classic Dominican staples to high-end seafood and even a delicious breakfast, is a major reason for its popularity. Their dedication to providing a full experience, with live music and a trendy atmosphere, makes a visit to El Tina Riverdale more than just a meal—it’s an event. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Party of 2 walk-in was sat quickly by the bar.Our server was very attentive to us the entire time. Sancocho and bread were served complimentary and it was DELICIOUS.I ordered the Shrimp Mofongo with the creamy garlic sauce; it was a bit on the drier side but nonetheless very flavorful. It was authentic Dominican Mofongo! My partner ordered the Beef Yaroa with the fries and it tasted similar to Lasagna, amazing. We both ordered the Morir Soñando and drank it in 2 seconds it was so good.Definitely visiting again. The food, hospitality and drinks were great.
April 02 · Angela DelgadoLunch on a Wednesday afternoon with a party of four (colleagues and manager) we all ventured for Dominican food in hopes of fulfillment for a good foodie experience. Food calls for people merged together from all cultures, ages and backgrounds coalesce to formed a unified setting for a healthy processed workplace environment. 'Cause as humans we live to eat and food is certainly a motivator. During the passage of my Sisyphean Task, I glanced a takeout menu that was floating in my workplace environment and was lured for a try as I was enticed by this business name. Delivery is available for a minimum order of $10.00. Unbeknownst to me, I did not know I cook well to own a Dominican restaurant as it bears my name! Oh! Next door there is a corresponding a juice bar with the same name... TINA. This business is accessible walking distance via MTA NYC Transit 1 train at 231st Street station in Kingsbridge, Bronx.Egregiously poor customer service! Price is excessively high which I am willing to pay but accompanied with good quality food as caveat. Their service does NOT align the food quality. The women behind the open buffet counter do not respond to customers' inquiries as I browsed the many hot food options and saw meat, "what is that? what type of meat is that?" for a dismissive tonal reluctant irascible response "It's meat! MEAT!!" Insolent! My colleague intervened: "she is asking what type of meat is that." All my colleagues and manager decided to attain the Dominican Mondongo, tripe stew soup which was good. We patiently waited for warm Casabe al ajillo bread with garlic to be served which we had to request with persistence as it is not accompanied for inclusion. I always have a predilection for garlic bread. There are a lot of staff behind the buffet hot food bar and cash register counter all actively hustling working speaking Spanish which many were very abruptly dismissive for my request of the standard sales receipt to be printed. Being busy with a lot of work does not give one the prerogative to be rude, irascible, dismissive, curt in a boorish wayward behavioral manner to your customers who are spending our hard-earn money giving it to your business! If you don't speak Spanish as a patron, good luck to be serviced properly with dignity for inclusion.Linguini pasta with chicken, small $9.00The linguini was average pasta and the chicken embedded was also average. I do not taste their food to be described as "delicious." I honestly could not consume a medium size plate as their attitude for poor customer service made me very despondent and intensely dispirited. Subsequently, I lost my appetite and food as desideratum was no longer enticing.
August 24 · Tina ChanIf you want some amazing Spanish food from this area no need to look any further! This spot is delicious. I ordered take out time and time again from here and I haven’t been disappointed. I highly recommend El Tina Riverdale Restaurant for some flavorful food and breakfast the mangu tres Golpes is also very good.
April 13 · Jo RiveraI highly recommend this place, the attention and service were excellent and the food was phenomenal, very good portions.
March 24 · Elido MaldonadoWow, que comida mas buena!! 😋This is some of the best dominican food out here. So good! Our waitress was more than great and accommodating. Will be back here again for sure!
