★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Location, location, location! It’s a great experience to eat lunch in this wonderful setting, in the middle of the beautiful Riverside Park overlooking the Hudson River. The food is hit or miss. The burgers are shamefully, fast food quality, and the chicken sandwich is too tough to eat. The fish tacos were. Guacamole is good but pricey. The spicy Dog and street corn are delicious and reasonably priced. I’m so glad they now have a coffee bar. Note that this is outdoor dining only.
August 18 · Indy JoIt’s not bad for the location, but the food is kinda lacking for the price. Overall the experience was good, friendly staff, beautiful sunset, and good atmosphere. If you’re looking for something quick easy and simple then it gets the job done. With that being said I do believe portion sizes are small for the price. Especially for the burger. I felt like I finished it in 4 bites. Same thing for the pizza, it was good but if I felt like it I could eat the whole pizza and burger and still have room.Definitely need to come back and try the drinks, that feels like more of the niche for this location.
August 05 · Gabriel CarralThis has quickly become our go to place on Friday evenings where our little biker boy has enough space to go wild with his scooter, as we admire him and hudson river views while sipping on some libations.Slightly overpriced menu, but seating and setup is perfect for people with families. Many many kids around too!All self-serve and their bar food options are decent although we've only ordered fries once which were as per expectation.
July 20 · Ameya BhakayWe were sitting at one of the MANY EMPTY picnic tables in Riverside Park on a calm Saturday morning, peacefully eating a bagel and enjoying the promenade from the shade, when staff from Ellington in the Park came over and told us we weren’t allowed to sit there with outside food, despite the tables being mostly deserted. We offered to BUY DRINKS just to stay and support them. A second staff member showed up to double down and literally said: “WE DON’T NEED YOUR BUSINESS.” That’s the attitude toward people trying to be civil and spend money at their so-called café.This is a PUBLIC PARK. These are park tables. There is NO signage saying you can’t sit here. The area is wide open. We were surrounded by trees, bikers, families, and other people sitting around with nothing but water. Nobody else got harassed, just us, for eating a bagel. Are you MAD?!Ellington in the Park is abusing their presence in Riverside Park. They’re treating public space like their private country club, making up rules on the spot, and intimidating people who are simply existing calmly in a shared space. If they can’t understand what it means to operate in a NYC park, they shouldn’t be here. They’re just pushing people out. Total failure of hospitality and basic decency. Never going back.
July 05 · Gil RaitsesFound this spot when walking through Riverside Park with a few friends, we stopped and shared a pitcher of beer, chips and guac, tacos and fries. The staff were lovely and really accommodating regarding an allergy within the group. The setting is great and the sunset views over the Hudson were amazing! Feels like a hidden gem in such a busy city, I’m surprised this place isn’t talked about more. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an enjoyable evening in NYC.
