Four of us stopped by George the other night for dinner. We had been there a couple of times before but first time for our friends. We ordered to share all dishes.We ordered jumbo shrimp, branzino, seared cod and a salad. Shrimp and cod were perfect. Salad was ok but rather small. Unfortunately the Branzino was too dried out, maybe overcooked.We also had a glass Greek red blended wine and it was quite good.At the beginning, the noise level was low as many tables were still empty. Later on, all tables filled up and the noise level made it very hard to carry a conversation over the table.My wife and I went back again the other day for our date night. Made a reservation and got a good table. This time we ordered fresh wild salmon (with spinach) and Souvlaki Platter with lamb. Both dishes were cooked properly and delicious. Add a glass of Greek red wine and all is good.

George is my boyfriend and my go-to restaurant for Greek food! It’s the perfect spot to grab lunch or dinner & it’s always soo satisfying, fresh, and delicious every time! So grateful to have a gem of a restaurant like George in the neighborhood! The ambiance is also so lovely & clean & the staff is so friendly and efficient!

We have returned to this Greek Restaurant many times. It offers traditional cuisine in the Upper East Side. The Tarama and Melitzanosalata are very fresh and tasty. The Chicken Gyro, Lamb Chops and Branzino are delicious. Service is always kind. During our last visit, the place was completely full and extremely noisy, making it very hard to communicate within the persons at our table. Recommended, but try to stay away from peak hours.

We had such a wonderful experience here! Our server, Ivy, was absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The food was delicious and authentically Greek, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. My family and I had a great time and we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

I was quite disappointed with the recent take out order where items were missing:Moussaka Platter per your MenuHearty slice of moussaka, served with pita, tzatziki, and Greek salad.Missing: tzatziki, pitaSwordfish Kebab Platter per your MenuSwordfish grilled on a jumbo skewer with vegetables, served with rice pilaf and Greek salad.Missing: Greek saladLamb Kebab PlatterLamb grilled on jumbo skewer with vegetables, served with rice pilaf and Greek salad.Missing: Greek salad, fries instead of rice pilafHaloumi Pita SandwichGrilled haloumi, served in a pita with tomato, cucumbers, olive oil & balsamic vinegar.Probably missing the dressingThis is a substantial difference. Especially on an order at about $100I reached out, never hear back. I am an adamant supporter of great quality food, which George definitely delivers, but accuracy and service also play a big role. And unfortunately it has not been the first time items were skipped, or something else was up.
