★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Gui reminds me of a typical upscale steakhouse but with a Korean twist - and it works! I really enjoyed some of their more unique options that you wouldn’t find in a typical American steakhouse like the kimchi fried rice and yookhwe. Everything else was good - nothing special but extremely fresh. Their cocktails were good but the desserts were a bit of a miss for me - nothing memorable. I’d definitely come back if I was having a large event and needed to be in the midtown area. The waiting staff was nice and the vibe inside is simple but upscale. Would recommend for a work event or large group gathering.
April 28 · Andrew DabydeenChef Shim delivers again! My new favorite restaurant whenever I’m in the theatre district. The food is amazing and the ambience has so much detail I could stare at the walls all day. As soon as I walked in, I was invited into the bar because it’s unbelievably mesmerizing that I just had to get a drink. The cocktails are all tasteful and well balanced. Then the hostess takes you upstairs into the main dining hall through the elevator. We started off with oysters as always and the shrimp cocktail was my favorite. We tried a bunch of different appetizers and all of them were a hit. Then came the meats! We got the tomahawk, porter house and the PRIME RIB just melts in your mouth! I only had Korean inspired dishes with steaks at my home but now I get to enjoy it right in the heart of the city.
April 02 · Alex KimEverything was fantastic. Service was incredibly fast and accommodating. They checked for allergies and if we had a show to catch. Food was flavorful and had diverse flavors. I had the most tender steak I've ever had. The guy at the next table said the same, while boasting that he's a steak connoisseur. We had the pix price meal, with yellow fin raw fish as an appetizer. Exquisite!
June 14 · Sam SteinThis is truly based on only the things we ordered.Blown away by the ambiance, cocktail balance/flavors, most of the food and the service. Here is why it was "most". The mushrooms were WAY too salty and sweet and the bone in ribeye while amazing was too salty as well. That being said, everything else from the bread (best bread I've ever had at a restaurant), the prime rib and the yookhwae (raw beef tartare) were amazing.Just wish the taste of the meat itself was the star instead of the salt. Maybe lessen the salt when seasoning and give salt as a side?
August 23 · James OhOne of the better chickens I’ve ever had. They were accommodating about food allergies. Jose our staff was great. Super attentive and kind and hard working, but not overbearing. A delicate balance and he did it great. The atmosphere is wonderful. I’ll be back!
