All of the food was a bit salty for us. The beef noodle soup was the best item we tried. The beef and the noodles were very good. The soy milk was good, but a little overpriced at $6 (you can get it for half that price in Chinatown). The cucumber salad had a strange flavor to it that I’m not used to. But the service was great and the vibes are cute. It is a tiny space so be prepared to wait if you go during a busy time. - Bianca Ng

Ho Foods Introduce

In a city as vast and diverse as New York, true culinary gems are often found in the most intimate spaces. Ho Foods, nestled in the heart of the East Village, is a prime example of such a place. This cozy Taiwanese eatery, founded by Chef Richard Ho, is more than just a restaurant; it’s a tribute to the authentic, home-cooked flavors of Taiwan. The concept is simple yet powerful: take classic Taiwanese comfort food and elevate it with high-quality, well-sourced ingredients. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels like a family-run spot, a sentiment echoed by the staff's dedication to making every visitor feel at home. The decor is thoughtfully curated, with family pictures and personal mementos that emphasize the feeling of a home kitchen. While it is a tiny space, which can lead to a wait, it only adds to the intimate and exclusive charm. This is a place where you can find a truly authentic taste of a local specialty, something that is both rare and highly sought after in the city's fast-paced food scene. Whether you're a local who grew up on these flavors or a tourist eager to explore a new cuisine, Ho Foods offers a genuine and memorable dining experience that is both casual and trendy, making it a perfect spot for any occasion.

Ho Foods has a well-deserved reputation for its commitment to serving exceptional food that is both hearty and perfectly filling. The menu is a curated collection of traditional dishes that showcase the richness and depth of Taiwanese cuisine. While a few customers have noted the food can be a bit salty for their preference, the general consensus is overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the robust flavors and the quality of the ingredients. The restaurant's highlight is undoubtedly its beef noodle soup, a dish that has been perfected through years of dedication and passion. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the beef is praised for its tenderness. Other dishes, like the savory soy milk, are also a major draw, surprising and delighting customers with a flavor they "can't stop thinking about." The intimate ambiance and fast, kind service contribute significantly to the overall positive experience. The restaurant is popular for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is a great option for solo diners who appreciate a quiet, cozy meal.
