The staff were super friendly and attentive!We ordered the ceviche, toro ssam bap, and jeju ribs which were all amazing! The ceviche had very fresh assortment of fish and shrimp with a lime (and yuzu?) mix, refreshing for this warm day. The toro ssam bap had so many flavors going on and was fun preparing them onto the seaweed with my partner. The jeju ribs was a highlight of sweet and savory, perfectly cooked tender ribs.It was a pleasant surprise to see that the serving sizes l turned out to be more food than we were expecting (we thought it would be like fine-dining tiny portions), so we ordered a little too much than we can eat since my husband also ordered the Gochu Ramyun for himself. We liked how firm the noodles were. The staff noticed us slowing down and offered to pack any leftovers to go which we appreciated the initiative.We can’t wait to go back with our friends!
May 03 · Lisa ZhaoTrying to get a reservation to any restaurant nowadays is very difficult. Trying to get a reservation to Jeju Noodle Bar was nearly impossible. When I was finally able to attain one, I couldn't have been more excited to try this restaurant. Opened since 2017, Jeju has received a Michelin Star for the past 6 years, so they definitely have a great reputation.The restaurant opens at 5pm and walking into the restaurant at 5:10pm, the restaurant was already packed. The atmosphere was sleek & chic, but not overboard. We were seated right away, and our glasses filled with water. The funny thing was the servers all looked like bouncers at a club so I was confused at first. Our server ended up being really nice, and the service team was really coordinated, working well together to create a great atmosphere.We ordered the Toro SSAM Bap, Truffle Scallop, Fried Chicken for appetizers, and the Wagyu Ramen, and Gochu Ramen for our Entrees.The Toro SSAM Bap (Toro, Golden Osetra Caviar, Melty Egg, Rice) was Fresh & very Rich. It came with little Roasted Seaweed squares, so you can make little handrolls.The Truffle Scallop was a very elegant, adult tasting dish. Fresh-shaved earthy Truffles, covered Sweet Scallops and Corn. The vinaigrette was what really pulled everything together. It had a beautiful balance of sweet, acidity, and savory.The Jeju Fried Chicken had a lot of great reviews so I was looking forward to this dish. The Chicken itself was Crispy, Juicy, and well-seasoned. The Chicken wasn't greasy at all and didn't feel heavy. The Yogurt sauce was a nice compliment, and the Golden Caviar, added a briny touch to enhance the Chicken.As a Ramen lover, I was really excited to try their Ramen. The A5 Wagyu Ramen came with a nice thin sheet of raw A5 Wagyu, Enoki, Brisket, Sesame, and Charred Scallion Oil. The Beef Bone Broth had an intense silky Beef flavor, and the Noodles were Firm and Chewy. The Wagyu melted in your mouth and overall it was an elegant bowl of Ramen. I did feel like it was a little monotone, and something like a Wasabi vinegar sauce on the side would've added the acidity to helped break up the monotony.The Gochu Ramen came with a Rich Pork Bone Broth, Grilled Pork Belly, White Kimchi, Wood ear Mushrooms, Charred Scallion Oil, and an intense Gochujang Sauce. The server asked us to mix everything together to get the full flavor of the ramen. This Ramen dish hit all the notes. The Broth was Spicy, sour, savory, and made it hard to stop eating. Both Ramen bowls were very enjoyable and you can't go wrong with either.Jeju Noodle Bar was worth the time and effort to get a reservation, and it is definitely worth another visit to try the other menu items. This place is on the pricier side, but the food, atmosphere, and service will make it worthwhile for you.
August 09 · Irvin DiazI've had plenty of food industry experience over the years in both fine dining Michelin restaurants & non Michelin restaurants in various countries, so I would like to leave a thorough review for both foodies "without" extensive culinary experience but who deeply appreciate good food, as well as for foodies with "extensive" culinary experience.I thinkJEJU noodle bar serves good food.Not great food.I am sad to say that I was disappointed by the food.The ramen broth seemed (to me) to rely heavily on over-salting the broth & I was not satisfied with the broth. It also lacked the complex robust set of flavors that would leave someone soul-satisfied (umami).I ordered the RAGYU RAMYUN.This dish felt like a failure to me. Way too much raw Kobe beef overkill.In addition to the thinly sliced raw Kobe beef, they incorporated a "corned beef-like" sliced meat. This was overkill & it completely decimated the entire dish & killed it for me. It was unnecessary & felt like an insult to the delicate nature of Kobe & to what Michelin dining is all about.Another dissatisfying thing: The ramen noodles were not chewy as I would expect from ramen, and these two factors were significant enough to make me wonder how they earned a Michelin star- or perhaps conclude that maybe they've slipped recently & have some free-thinking clowns making some changes.Ok now for the big one.Everyone seems to be raving about the TORO SSAM BAP.It was nice, beautifully assembled, but not impressive in taste.The caviar in this dish was a nice touch but the dish seemed perplexing & I did not enjoy it as much as I hoped.For starters, the fatty tuna was not prepared as I hoped & didn't seem cut from the good fatty part of the tuna belly. Additionally, the acidity level of this dish seemed off to me. Again, it was not balanced well for my taste......If you're a foodie who enjoys good food then I believe you will like this place, but if you're a foodie who's sampled the food industries finest & expect a lot then you may be somewhat disappointed like I was...
August 14 · M. SaszareNice take on Korean food! Loved the fried Chicken but the caviar was kinda unnecessary. The wines were quite pricey. I absolutely loved the cold and hot noodle dishes. The soft serve ice cream with truffle is to die for. Will I go again? No. But I am super happy I trued this.
August 19 · Shashanka RaoExcellent place to have dinner! The food was amazing/incredible! We started with the ceviche and gochujang bokum were so delicious, different taste each other but so balanced and fresh! The entrees! wow, really speechless! This noodles were beyond perfect! And we close with the dessert! We were no really convinced about he truffle in ice cream, but they really make it worth! I can eat it every day! So goood!Also the service was really good we have the pleasure to have Marin as our server and he was so nice, so kind and helpful, he make us feel home and he show happy to have us there and sharing with us! We are so thankful!
