Ah, here's the rest of the menu, they've got other options besides Jian Bing.I initially had doubts because all the staff looked like they were about to prepare me an American version of Chinese cuisine, they instantly vanished as I watched them in surprise make all the dishes with as much authenticity and experience as any other chef you'd find in Chinatown. The Dragon Bowl had really good miishien, chewy and definitely freshly stored. The mala xiangguo was great, I ordered it mild because of my nonexistent spice tolerance and had a blast. I couldn't find photos, but the eggplant braised pork was on point. Usually it takes a lot of deep-frying skill for the eggplant to cook but retain it's purple color, but they managed it expertly. What I definitely also recommend is the tomato beef, when I took a bite into the beef I was shocked. It definitely wins the title of the tenderest, chewiest beef I've had in a long time.Their crepes are amazing too! As a lazy person who spent their NYC time living in Ktown, I was too lazy to commute to other jian bing places for the most part, and you don't have to, because it's so authentic here. You can also watch them make it, which is something that does help pass the slightly long wait time. I saw a few reviews before mine complaining about it being soggy. About those? I think it's more of a takeout problem with the steam and stuff, and not a problem with the chef or food. They come out very fresh and if you order it with the fritter, you have just ordered heaven.Since it's in Food Gallery 32, do expect the chatty and lively atmosphere, hence the rest of my rating. Besides that, this is a hidden gem within Food Gallery 32! Definitely come check it out! - Josie_ Bookworm

When you're in New York and craving authentic Chinese food, Jian Bing Man is a hidden gem that is truly worth choosing. The most compelling reason is the authenticity and quality of the food. In a city where many Chinese restaurants cater to more general tastes, Jian Bing Man offers a genuine taste of Chinese street food culture. The Jianbing itself is a reason to visit, but the real value lies in the rest of the menu. Dishes like the Hot & Sour Noodle Soup and the Sichuan Kitchen dry pot are prepared with an expertise that speaks to the chefs' experience, creating flavors that feel both traditional and deeply satisfying.

Beyond the food, the experience itself is a highlight. Being able to watch the staff prepare the food in front of you adds to the appeal, giving you a glimpse into the culinary process. This transparency reinforces the quality and freshness of the ingredients. While some may mention the wait time, it is often a sign that the food is being made to order, and for a fresh Jianbing with a crispy fritter, the wait is more than worth it.

The variety of offerings also makes Jian Bing Man an excellent choice. Whether you're in the mood for a quick and light meal, a hearty rice bowl, or a rich, savory hot pot, you'll find it here. The presence of unique items like the "tenderest, chewiest beef" and the expertly cooked eggplant dishes sets us apart.
