★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Kira is hands down the best hand rolls in town. I went to Kira on Saturday evening and trying out their 7 course tasting. It's an open kitchen and you can see the chefs making your food. I love how everyone was very attentive and interactive with the guest. Thank you DJ and chef Q (hope i heard your name right) for the great service and hospitality. The food was phenomenal. I got an appetizer, 4 hand rolls: 1 tuna, 1 tofu (which surprisingly so good), 1 lobster (creamy and tender) and another one i forgot. Then A5 wagyu donburi, and omg the meat was tender, but soft and literally melt in my mouth, combined with the garlic chips, chef kiss. Finishing with the Choco Banana Kakigori, very banana-y not too sweet which i like, topping with the slightly salty and crunchy from the hazelnuts.Great place for date nights! I'll def come back to check out their lunch menu as well. But overall, 10/10.
July 03 · Thu NguyenKira is newer, and almost hidden amongst the nearby shops, but was a genuinely wonderful experience to eat at. The server walked us through the menu options and we left it to the chef to serve a series of unique hand rolls. The last two courses were beautiful & memorable desserts (see pic). I had no expectations going into this dinner but they overdelivered.
April 13 · A W (yodude86)Drinks were delicious, strong and smooth! I was looking for a unique tasty experience and I’m so thankful that I found Kira. We have a seven course meal for two and about four drinks is for about $300 worth every penny and great hospitality by Jake, Dj and others.
April 20 · Victor Schloss IIIThe only downside of this place was me underestimating it. I booked a reservation at 7:15 and due to traffic wasn't able to arrive until around 7:35, a little frazzled and dazed from the days adventures. The host welcomed me graciously and sat me down, introducing me to my server and mentioning that private dining begins at 8:15 for large parties only, meaning I didn't have much time. I understood and wondered if I should have canceled my reservation but sat and decided to let things play out. I took in the view and commented that the restaurant was beautiful, taking a little time to wind down and forgetting to look at the menu, which he then opened for me. I entered the space in a rush and worried but was reminded to enjoy the moment with the delicious handrolls and detail-oriented customer service. I mean, these guys don't miss anything. They remember your name without having to look and ask if you happen to be left handed before they place down chopstick holders. I also feel like they treated me with patience and grace depsite the fact that I was being a little silly like by not opening the menu for 5 mins. Each handroll is personally delivered to you with a short description of what it is before is fills your mouth with absolute pleasure. The music and lighting is just right and creates an intimate curated vibe. The chefs mastery is clear in that they do not require aprons because they work so cleanly. I had several handrolls and the chirashi as well as the coconut mango shaved ice. Chirashi and desserts as well as the hokkaido scallop handroll were stars. I wish I was able to finish my dessert and chirashi, unfortunately the lobster handroll made me a bit queasy from how rich it was. Skip that and enjoy more dessert than I was able to and don't waste any precious morsels of the perfectly seasoned fish that comes in the chirashi. Order some tea as well and sip and admire as the chefs manually shave ice to order before artfully topping with an assortment of seasonal ingredients. Come earlier than I did in order to fully enjoy this special experience that highlights the power of intentional hospitality, especially in today's disconnected and fast-paced world. So glad I dropped in, even if I was just passing by really. Truly a work of art, I predict this place will have a michelin star soon.
