What is worth choosing
Choosing Knickerbocker Bar & Grill is an investment in a truly classic New York dining experience. While the menu offers a wide array of excellent options, what is truly worth choosing here are the house specialties that have made it a legend. The star of the show is undoubtedly the Knickerbocker's Famous T-Bone Steak. Available for one or two persons, this is more than just a steak; it's a piece of culinary history, grilled to perfection and celebrated by generations of diners. Paired with a side of Fingerling Potatoes or the rich Truffle Mashed Potato, it's a meal that is both substantial and unforgettable.
Beyond the steaks, the starters are also a highlight. The Knickerbocker Caviar Pie and the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake are excellent choices that showcase the restaurant's commitment to classic flavors and high-quality ingredients. For those with a sweet tooth, the Chocolate Souffle for two is a must-try. Described by a real customer as a dessert that rivals any you'd find in France, it's a fittingly decadent end to an exceptional meal. While some cocktails might not be to everyone's taste, the fantastic beer and wine lists more than make up for it, offering perfect pairings for any dish.
What truly elevates Knickerbocker above the rest is the complete package. It’s the combination of the impeccable, old-school service, the captivating live piano music, and the historic, cozy atmosphere that makes it special. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place was good. To start we had the French onion soup and the ceasar salad. Fair warning: the Ceasar has actual pieces of anchovies on it. For the mains, I ordered the petit filet mignon with fries and truffle butter. Everything was good, I wasn't blown away with flavor but it was good. They also have a person playing the piano at 9pm which was nice during dinner. If you're looking for really good cocktails though, this is not the place. I ordered a cocktail and it was not balanced, it was WAY too strong and made me feel sick after two sips.
May 16 · Melissa Amber GoodseitCouldn't love this place more - the welcoming vibe, old school feel, genuinely kind and attentive staff, and outstanding food.Greeted warmly at the door, seated at an awesome table, and served throughout the night by tremendous waiters and waitresses. Drinks were good, appetizers were great, but the t-bone steak (for 4!) was the star of the show. Chocolate souffle also top notch - you couldn't find a better one in France if you tried.Absolutely loved our dinner from start to finish.
August 10 · Andy DThis place is a delight. Very cool and moody inside, feels both cozy and comforting and also like some dramatic dinner would happen there in some show like the sopranos. When we went we weren't hungry enough for dessert but rest assured we'll be back because my god everything was great and I'm sure the good times only get better. I got the salmon, which was fabulous, again with the salmon in this town, it's never let me down. We split a Caesar and that was enough with the fabulous bread selection which included as a suprise the BEST cornbread I think I've ever had. Oh my lord. I'm gonna have to find out if they sell it separately, because I would buy a weekly loaf of that golden fabulous dream bread. I forget the name of our waiter but he had red hair and he was a wonderful time and answered all of my father's random assortments of questions. Just a gem. We can't wait to go back.
February 01 · Siena WDCame here a few weeks back on a Friday nite & utterly loved this place. Food was spot on, waiters were very helpful & the ambiance was great. I can't wait to go back!
January 29 · Grace AcevedoThe company was excellent, the cocktails pretty solid! Liked the food too but found the service a little slow even though the restaurant wasn’t too busy. The air conditioning seemed to be struggling too so we were a little warm too. NTL, we’d go again and see if we might have just had an off night!
