The restaurant's cozy and casual vibe makes it a perfect spot for any occasion, whether you're grabbing a quick lunch, having a relaxed dinner with family, or enjoying a meal on your own.
The menu at La Cabaña Salvadoreña is a comprehensive tour of Salvadoran cuisine. The "Antojitos Salvadoreños," or Salvadoran Dishes, are the heart of the menu, with the pupusas being the star. These thick, handmade corn tortillas are filled with various ingredients like cheese, beans, or a mix of both, and are served with a side of curtido (a lightly fermented cabbage slaw) and salsa. Customers consistently praise the pupusas for their authentic taste and great price. Beyond this staple, the menu offers a wide variety of other traditional favorites, including "Tamal Pollo" and "Nuegados De Yuca Con Chilate."
In addition to these traditional snacks, the restaurant's menu features a full range of entrées. The "Carnes/Meats" section includes flavorful options like the "Skirt Steak/Churrasco" and the "Meat Platter/Parrillada," which are substantial and satisfying. For seafood lovers, the "Mariscos/Seafood" menu offers fresh and zesty choices such as "Ceviche" and "Roasted Salmon/Salmon Asado." The "Combination Plates" are a great way to sample a little bit of everything, providing a curated experience of the best the restaurant has to offer. The lunch specials, like the "Steak Lunch Order," are perfect for a midday meal, offering great value and delicious flavor.
To complement the food, La Cabaña Salvadoreña has a fantastic beverage selection. Along with a bar offering a great selection of beer, cocktails, hard liquor, and wine, the restaurant also serves authentic "Salvadoran Drinks" like Tamarindo and Horchata, which are a must-try for an authentic experience. The "Dessert/Postres" menu offers a sweet ending to the meal, with traditional treats like "Nuegados De Yuca Con Chilate" and "Salvadorian Cheesecake/Quesadilla." The combination of delicious comfort food, traditional drinks, and sweet treats makes for a complete and memorable dining experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Amazing food! Although I ordered takeout this restaurant serves the best chips with guac hands down in all of NYC! the churrasco steak was 4/5 just because I was expecting a different taste but the steak was juicy nevertheless the rice and beans tasted really good. Other reviews are probably fake because my food tasted just fine I have nothing bad to say concerning this resteraunt definitely be ordering delivery again sometime soon
June 07 · Frankie AlbaAll about the pupusas. Great prices and even better taste keeps me coming back. Recommend the bean and cheese or the pork bean and cheese pupusa
August 11 · LiShThis is a rare find: a genuine, small, family-run restaurant in NYC. If you want authentic Salvadoran and Latin American food, this is the place to go. I had shrimp ceviches, a fantastic, juicy, and cool lunch on a hot summer day; my friends got pupusas and a sausage and rice breakfast. The price is also extremely affordable. Service was warm, fast, and friendly. It doesn't have the posh appearance of a high-end restaurant, but it makes you feel like you're in an old-school New York establishment instead. Recommend!
September 08 · Yuri KazakovAmazing food and service! We chose to have Thanksgiving dinner here and escape the crowds of downtown NYC. The pupusas, steak, caldo, everything was delicious!!!
November 28 · Shane KibbeyThe food is 5 stars so they will see me again. However the attitude is crazy! I was constantly ignored even when walking while staring at the owner and saying “have a good night”. Needless to say come for the food not the ambiance.
