What makes La Moneda worth choosing is its dual appeal as both a classic Latin American restaurant and a lively social spot. The food is a major draw, with a customer review praising their meal as "AMAZING." Dishes like Fried Chicken (Chicharron De Pollo), Fried Pork Chunks (Chicharron de Cerdo), and the popular Picadera Mixta offer a true taste of authentic cuisine. The fast service and the welcoming, smiling staff mentioned in a review also contribute to a positive dining experience.
However, it is important to address the more negative review that describes a "piranha infested waters" experience and a high bill for a few drinks. This type of feedback suggests that the atmosphere can change significantly between day and night. While one customer finds the night scene to be "party time," another may find it to be a less-than-ideal environment. This highlights the importance of managing expectations based on the time of day. For those looking for a casual meal, the daytime atmosphere is likely more aligned with their needs. For those seeking a vibrant, high-energy night with drinks, the late-night scene might be what they're looking for, though with a different set of expectations.
Ultimately, La Moneda’s value lies in its authenticity and versatility. It is a place where you can find genuine Latin American comfort food for an affordable price, and also a spot where you can enjoy a drink and a lively atmosphere. By being aware of its different facets, a patron can choose the right time to visit and enjoy what the restaurant does best. Its wide menu, fast service, and friendly staff make it a notable establishment in the Bronx's rich and diverse culinary landscape.

June 29 · Ed SanPiranha infested waters. Many women waiting to jump on you to make you waste your money. I bought a shot of Johnny for me, two miniature Coors for a blond chick and the other one asked for two drinks without asking and I was there about 15 mins= $120
August 07 · Rolly RolMediocre, I am Hispanic and I know about Spanish food, the food is edible but nothing to write home about! I wanted bacalao and they didn't have any. I had eggplant and it was decent but I have had much better. I don't think I will return unless I'm dying of hunger and this place is the only one open.
March 12 · L DPassed by but haven’t been inside... From the outside I see a lot of activity so they must be a good place to eat... Actually, I went in and was lucky to have service with happy ending! REALLY!
November 26 · RayO TechThey have recently opened up their kitchen! The food is of the best quality I have had in any spanish restaurant in the New York City area. I highly recommend the food here!
