★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I visited Le Jardinier during Restaurant Week and was lucky to be seated next to the kitchen, which added a nice bit of energy to the elegant space. Things started strong with warm, freshly baked bread that hit the spot. The first course—a salad of burrata, peaches, and haricots verts—was fresh but felt a little uninspired, with only a couple of thin peach slices and not much going on flavor-wise. The chicken main was better. Tender and juicy, with seasonal touches like squash and corn. I would’ve liked a bit more corn, but the flavors were well balanced. Dessert was the clear highlight. The peach tart, though was fantastic—vibrant peach purée and a flawless, buttery crust. They’ve got a 5-star pastry chef! Wine by the glass leaned on the pricey side, and my pour felt a bit skimpy, which was a slight letdown. Service overall was professional but occasionally inattentive and didn’t quite meet expectations. All in all, a mixed experience with some high points, but it fell short of what I’d hoped for from a Michelin-starred restaurant.
August 05 · ReedHI went there for lunch during Restaurant Week. Recently, Restaurant Week has not offered many great deals, and it is difficult to find something that really impresses with its taste, but this restaurant is one of those rare gems. The portions are large, the desserts are of high quality, and the service is impeccable. I would definitely return to this place!
August 24 · Y GHad an amazing restaurant week lunch here and the food/ambiance/service were top notch true of a Michelin star restaurant. I loved the scallops and the entree were super delicious too. Desserts were spot on and we had a great meal. Will be back again!
August 02 · Mahima SrivastavaExcellent dining experience. We both got the 4 course tasting menu which was top notch. They just put in ipad menus which were annoying but its no biggie. My only do over would be the truffle pasta. Its a +45 addition to the tasting menu and was not our favorite. Deserts were great. Service was what you would expect from a Michelin star restaurant. Coctails were tasty. I would absolutely go back.
August 13 · Ryan parkinsonMy first experience with LJ was June 2024 and I had stopped in for lunch. I was completely enamored with the Carolina Gold Rice Risotto and the generous staff, so I knew that I had to come back. I came here for a birthday dinner 4/5/25.As others have noted, the setting is dark, quiet and filled with fake plants, which in my opinion is still elegant and a nice break from the usual overbearing NYC setting. As a party of two, were sat in a large booth. The food was creative, yet traditional, and their culinary mission is very evident in the presentation of the dishes. We opted for the Create-Your-Own 3/4 course meal options, and I couldn't have been more pleased. The bread is warm, fresh and accompanied by house butter. My Hiramasa appetizer popped with flavor and my steak was honestly one of the best steaks I have ever had. You just have to get the plant-based ice cream: you won't order ice cream anywhere else ever again.Having worked in fine dining myself, I can say with confidence the staff worked overtime to deliver a pleasing experience. Water refilled; tableware reset; plates taken away in a timely fashion. Our server Milfa was also very friendly. I had a great time here and especially recommend the restaurant to those who seek an introductory exploration into NYC's fine dining scene.
