---Choosing Le Pain Quotidien is all about embracing a unique and relaxing dining experience in a busy city. While some savory items may not be a hit for everyone, the bakery's core offerings are what make it truly shine and are what is most worth choosing. The pastries are a major highlight, with the mini pancakes and the French Cream Doughnut receiving rave reviews. The Belgian Waffle is also a classic, and while the toppings may be a matter of personal taste, the waffle itself is a solid foundation. The heart of the menu, however, lies in its bread and the items that feature it. The Avocado Toast is a popular favorite, celebrated for its simple and fresh ingredients, which perfectly align with the restaurant's philosophy. The Tartines, or open-faced sandwiches, are a signature item. While the taste can vary, the concept of a high-quality slice of bread as the base for fresh toppings is what sets them apart. For those seeking lighter, healthier options, the Quinoa & Avocado Salad and the Black Lentil Bowl are excellent choices, providing a fresh and nourishing meal. The restaurant's appeal is not just in a single dish, but in the overall experience—the slow, un-rushed atmosphere makes it an ideal spot to sit for a long time, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a moment of peace. The commitment to organic ingredients and a wholesome, plant-based approach to many of their dishes is a significant draw. It's a place that prioritizes a tranquil environment and simple, high-quality food over a fast, high-volume dining experience. For these reasons, Le Pain Quotidien remains a go-to for many New Yorkers looking for a delicious and calming escape from the city hustle.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The service was just too slow for me, and it also impacted the food because it came out barely warm. Maybe it would've been better hot, or if I'd ordered something that cooled slower (I ordered a toasted croissant with ham and cheese), but I probably won't come back.It is a good place to hang out for a long time though, if you are just looking for a nice place to catch up with friends where they won't rush you out.
July 27 · Rachel SteinTheir pastries are amazing. The mini pancakes are a major highlight, so is the lemon tart. The berry tart is a classic and the hot chocolate is bitter and rich. The belgian waffle was nice but the whipped cream on top was a bit sour and so I ended up scooping about half of it off since it overpowered the waffle and strawberries. The savory items we were not a fan of. We tried two different “tartines”, the turkey avocado bacon and the mozzarella chicken melt. Both were a strange flavor that didn’t really mesh together or do it for us… There was too much dill in the turkey one and the chicken mozzarella was just tolerable. Would not recommend.
July 29 · Desiree AHands down the best item I’ve eaten in NYC - Le Pain’s Coconut Macaroon 🤤🤍🤍🤍 (close second was their teeny brownie bite - absolutely amazing) Can’t wait to come back to try one of everything - LOVE!!
June 09 · Ginger AnneI have never seen such a disgrace anywhere, what kind of croissant is this? it's like a dog or a pig can't stand it
August 16 · Nat SOur server was very nice, and the cappuccino was delicious. That being said, we will not return to this cafe due to the fact that there was a major issue with the cleanliness of one of their employees. After our breakfast, and on the way out to leave, I went in line to use the restroom; it’s a single stall.A male employee walked out of the restroom, and held the door open for me to enter. As I turned around I saw, right away, that there was urine all over the toilet seat. Absolutely disgusting!!!I immediately turned around, told the staff behind the counter, and left.I’m convinced this man didn’t wash his hands either given the condition of the toilet seat.We will not be back. Who knows if this man handles food there too 🤮(This was the 2161 Broadway location)
