★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Le Veau d’Or is pure charm from the moment you walk in, soft lighting, red banquettes, and that old-world Paris feel that makes you want to slow down and savor everything. We started with the oysters topped with sausage; unexpected combo but amazing. I had the lobster, perfectly tender and sweet, while my partner had the chicken, juicy and full of flavor. Every bite tasted like it was made with care. I sipped champagne while my partner enjoyed a beautiful glass of wine, and both paired perfectly with our meals. The service was warm and attentive without ever feeling rushed. It’s the kind of place where you leave smiling, already talking about what you’ll order next time.
August 08 · kuenga kayThis is honestly I think the best restaurant I’ve been to and I never say this. Every single thing was ridiculously amazing. Service is great and the food is divine. Something simple or something complex, all has been remarkable. I also love love love the pace. Long dinners allow you to appreciate the atmosphere and really have a great night out. A place that I will go back again and again.Best duck of my life, brined for SO LONG!!
June 10 · Karina WongDelicious and well executed classic french bistro meal. Came here for dinner (reservation via opentable) and it was packed at 5:30pm on a Saturday. Overall it’s a small space with just a couple of bar seating options so reservations are strongly recommended here - check opentable at 9am for reservations two weeks out.Dinner is a prix fixe menu with bread basket from Frenchette - baguette and mixed grain sourdough served with side of cute French butter. Wines by the glass were limited, just 6 options total with focus on natural wines. For starters, we got the escargot and the oysters/little neck claim (came with 3 sausages!). The escargot was delicious with small bites of fresh garlic herby, crouton, and some tomato. We both got the steak au poivre as our main - I’m not usually an au poivre sauce person but was very much impressed by this one. Steak with a heaping serving of French fries. After the mains, they serve up a small salad almost as a palate cleanser which was very nice. We ended the meal with ice cream with cherries and the rhubarb tart (very tart!!!). All the staff were super friendly and came by often to check on us. Clean bathrooms but very tiny. Worth the wait to grab a reservation here! Due to the small space, best suited for groups of no more than 4. Great for celebratory occasions.Update: came for lunch and was just as good! Got the confit duck
July 04 · H LWelcome back! Amazing bread service. Got the pre fix menu for $125 which I found reasonable for the portions and selections of dishes. Really an expansive pre fix menu. The salad that comes after the entree I forgot to take a picture of. Use your imagination.
April 17 · Sha OI finally made it to Le Veau d’Or and it was lovely. The ambiance/vibe was just perfect in an authentic way. I’m sure every detail is meticulously chosen, but it felt authentic and natural. The food was so good and I’m already hoping to come back to try more items in the menu. Standouts were the bread (duh), petit omelet, steak frites, tomato salad, strawberry shortcake like dessert and my dirty martini. The service was absolutely outstanding! Despite it being a “buzzy” NYC restaurant it was not pretentiousness. We were greeted at the door and felt welcomed. Our waiter was so kind, knowledgeable of the menu, and patient with our questions. Every person on the staff we came in contact with was in their A game.
