★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We ordered the lamb egg, the famous burger and fries, duck pie, oyster, and tuna on toast. My favorite is the tuna it’s so flavorful and fresh! The burger is pretty greasy 😭
August 16 · Zoe YangBe warned - they only serve 12 burgers per night so if you have a late reservation you will not be getting one. That being said, the food here is excellent albeit with small portions. In particular, the Crab & Uni Toast was loaded up with sweet and salty crab which was nicely balanced with lemon juice. The Curried Lamb Scotch Egg was also fantastic, with a cooked shell of ground, spicy lamb enclosing the egg - it was an unexpected combination of flavors that were irresistible. For dessert, you need to try the Sticky Toffee Ice Cream, which is unlike most anything I've had before. It tastes like an ice cream cake, with bits of a cake-like substance in the ice cream itself. It's delicious!
February 17 · Ryan TammaroLord’s is a cozy, well-executed spot that’s perfect for date night. The food is high quality and easy to share, with thoughtful flavors throughout the menu. The duck pie with chanterelles and Swiss chard is the standout — rich, tender filling wrapped in flaky pastry, paired with pickled turnips and fig. Easily the best duck pie I’ve had in NYC. The limited daily burger is also worth trying — juicy, cheesy, and served on a satisfying pretzel-style bun. Great atmosphere, great food.
May 12 · E*Charlie Wilson voice* Lord lord lordStarted with a delicious bottle of Syrah from Cortes de Cima in Portugal. As we got into food, our server had the kindness and foresight to reserve us the last sausage roll (which was excellent) before the kitchen sold out. We followed that with the- curried lamb scotch egg (top!)- peekytoe crab and sungold tomatoes on toast- veal sweetbreads with hen of the woods and watercress- the duck pie with chanterelles and sherry reduction and- summer puddingYes, I spelled it all out; you are welcome. We’ll be back soon for the crispy pig’s head and the steak & chips.
July 07 · Pierre SenayHad the good fortune of being treated to dinner for my birthday by my wife & son. The interior of Lord’s is that of an upscale British pub, however the menu offers sooo much more than any traditional pub or tavern I’ve ever visited!I started with a Piccadilly Martini which was topped with a literal spot of dill oil. Simply one of the nicer martinis I’ve ever enjoyed. We ordered 3 oysters kilpatrick, lamb scotch egg and peekytoe crab/uni & Meyer lemon toast for appetizers. The oysters were broiled and then topped with crispy guanciale, a warm mixture of shallots, brown butter, Worcestershire sauce, and malt vinegar. The flavor was excellent but the oyster was definitely out sung by the topping. Still a very delicious bite. The scotch egg was modified by using ground lamb with Indian spices & served on bed of yogurt & mint. Crispy exterior and perfectly cooked farm fresh egg yolk interior. Another winner. The peekytoe uni toast was really crispy and a wonderful meshing of the sweet & briny crabmeat with the velvety texture of the uni. A very rare moment when I enjoyed uni.Our mains were the sirloin & chips with a green peppercorns sauce, the poached cod with butter beans, leeks and mussels and I enjoyed the corned beef and cabbage with bone marrow and a side of mashed potatoes topped with finely chopped chives. My opinion was the corned beef pie was the best when drizzled with malt vinegar. The dish itself is a large serving for one guest with a large bone in the center of a flakey puff pastry topping. Our table universally enjoyed that dish the most. We also agreed the sirloin sauce would’ve been tastier with a mushroom sauce or something a bit more complimentary than the red wine(?) sauce served as it was a bit sour. The poached cod with butter beans was quite good especially when eaten with a dab of the parsley cream served atop the beans & leeks. Truly memorable. We finished by sharing the very satisfying sticky ginger sponge & vanilla ice cream which our server kindly topped with 2 lit candles and NO singing…perfect! The service was friendly but a bit spotty. At one point in the dinner I didn’t want to interrupt the server (who was engaged in an extended conversation with the neighboring table) for a second martini and some malted vinegar and went to the bar to request it. Overall the servers worked together and the experience was memorable. I’d recommend a visit and will return again soon!
