Makabely Introduce
In a city filled with countless pizza places, Makabely stands out for a truly unique reason. More than just a pizza restaurant, this neighborhood gem, formerly known as Columbia Pizza, is a fusion of classic Italian-American comfort food and vibrant Latin cuisine. It's the kind of spot that truly captures the spirit of New York's diverse culinary landscape—a place where you can grab a slice of pizza and a serving of traditional Cuchifritos all in one visit. This isn't a high-end, artisanal pizza joint; instead, it's a beloved local eatery that offers great value, satisfying portions, and a flavor profile that's both familiar and exciting. Makabely is a "best-kept secret" of the neighborhood, a go-to spot for those who appreciate honest, delicious, and affordable eats.
The atmosphere at Makabely is casual and inviting, making it a great option for a quick lunch, a relaxed dinner, or even a solo dining experience. It's a place where locals and tourists can mingle, all drawn in by the promise of hearty, flavorful food. The restaurant is particularly known for its "cheap eats," a reputation well-earned by its generous portions and incredibly low prices. As one delighted customer shared, they ordered "spaghetti & steak for lunch $6.00 with a bottled water," a price point that is almost unheard of in New York City. The customer’s review highlighted the exceptional value and taste, noting that the "steak was so soft it fell apart in my mouth, no chewing needed." This kind of quality at such an affordable price is what makes Makabely a true standout.
The menu offers a fantastic blend of choices, catering to a variety of cravings. You can find traditional Pizza, with options like the Basic Gourmet Pizza ($11.99) and the Bianca Pizza ($19.99). But the real magic lies in the fusion of offerings. The menu also includes classic Hot Heroes like the Meatball Hero and Chicken Cutlet Parmigiana Hero, both priced at $7.99. For pasta lovers, the Baked Ziti with Chicken Cutlet or Meatballs is a substantial and delicious meal for just $9.99. In addition to these Italian-American staples, Makabely is also known for its Latin food, including Cuchifritos, which are various fried foods, and other hot and fresh dishes like steak, ribs, and chicken. The restaurant’s ability to successfully blend these two distinct culinary traditions is what makes it such a unique and memorable place to dine.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1One of the hoods best kept secrets!!! Cheap eats @ it’s best ... Latin food (Cuchifritos) = various fried foods mostly consisting of pork in Puerto Rican Cuisine. Add to that pizza, beef patties, & all the goodies that are associated with the artery clogging deliciously flavored food that we all love. Steak, ribs, chicken, all hot & fresh ready for consumption. Here’s an example, I ordered spaghetti & steak for lunch $6.00 with a bottled water, are you kidding me ??? Where I live you couldn’t even get the spaghetti alone for that price !!! The taste was amazing, the steak was so soft it fell apart in my mouth, no chewing needed . All kidding a side, put this place on your to do list .
January 24 · Dom JrMakabely formerly known as Columbia Pizza. Its not going to be mistaken with a high class pie joint, but for the price, its not too bad.We usually get the margarita or lasagna pie.
June 22 · George FineFood portions are small for the price and drinks taste flat also the restaurant lets non customers use their chairs to sit ways away from their place just to sit and hang out
July 19 · Mikey MikeNice neighborhood spot for pizza that’s been here for a while. Seems they’re now Champion Pizza Columbia. Considering what’s available in the area it’s a good reasonable choice for a quick bite. Price good for what it is and options around here without having go to a chain spot with similar price range.Staff here still nice. That neighborhood drama never disappoints though. 🤣
April 06 · John WongThis pizzeria is good. but hours are vary bad morning to 7 o’clock is closing time, but never put their gates down. The old lady who is the Spanish food is rude should be removed please fix your times at pizzeria should be from morning to 8:30 PM so people to buy food when they come from work and people who can’t cook
