★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We had the most amazing experience tonight! Every bite and sip was perfection. The cocktails were unlike anything I’ve had before—so unique and beautifully balanced. I ordered the Maya cocktail, which had sumac and sesame oil—absolutely stunning. The food was just as impressive. We tried the beef croquettes, the pork belly tacos, and the surf and turf tacos, and every single dish was a flavor explosion. The atmosphere tied it all together, with modern decor that felt like a late night out in Mexico City. The only bad thing was the valet company the person at the stand stood staring as us in the car, we then asked if the valet was available, he said yes and then more staring. He seemed bothered he had to work today. Can’t wait to come back!
August 23 · Michelle MorrisEverything from start to finish was excellent! A warm greeting at the door and a very well versed staff! The Bartenders we also very welcoming and knowledgeable. We got to our table right on time and our server was delightful and over all amazing! The menu Chef Luis put together is phenomenal if I could have ordered one of everything I would have! The highlights of the night was the aguachile and the vanilla inspired dessert with caviar over the top to compliment the sweetness! Will be coming back soon and hopefully for brunch
July 11 · Cameron ScalfFirst time at this restaurant. They opened July 18 2025.Great food, excellent service. Very attentive staff, from management to service team members. Christian was our server, and him and his colleagues kept our glasses full, and they were very timely in getting our orders out.Food and coffee were excellent! Ingredients were fresh, and all the dishes we ordered were flavorful, and the taste were well balanced.Highly recommended for food, ambiance, and the excellent service by staff.
August 24 · Abitamax CWe had the pleasure of dining at Mayahuel, and from the moment we walked in, it was clear this place is something special. Though only open for two weeks, the level of service, detail, and passion from the entire team made it feel like an established gem in Houston’s vibrant food scene.William guided us through the menu, offering thoughtful food and drink recommendations while sharing the inspiration and history behind each dish—and even the restaurant itself. It made the experience feel personal and rich with culture.Kevin, our server, was kind, attentive, and genuinely pleasant—exactly the kind of service that makes you want to return. Jesse, working the bar, was engaging and insightful about the drinks, and also sincerely interested in whether we were enjoying ourselves. Elman, the bar manager, was equally impressive. We were especially honored to meet Luis, the chef and owner, who took time from the kitchen to personally greet us and hear our feedback. He was warm, gracious, and truly passionate about his craft. We also met Adam, the sommelier, whose knowledge added yet another layer to the experience.Every person we encountered seemed to know everything about the food, the drinks, and the philosophy behind the restaurant—and it showed. The presentation was artful, the flavor combinations were exciting and nuanced, and the whole evening was more than just a meal—it was a memorable dining experience. In a city overflowing with great restaurants, Mayahuel is destined to become one of Houston’s shining stars. We can't wait to return.
August 03 · Daniel PlantMake a reservation at Mayahuel! It just opened and the food is sublime and entirely transcendental. Every dish that came from this lively open kitchen was a masterpiece of art with fresh flavors that put a smile on my face so huge I literally danced in my seat. Each ingredient is of the best quality, and the execution of the recipes will stun you. This is bar none my favorite food I've ever had the honor of consuming, and I cannot wait to go back. The textures throughout the restaurant are inviting, the atmosphere is electric yet homey, and the staff is exquisitely professional. The attention to details in the materials selected from the stone of the bathroom countertops to the napkins at your table is appreciated. It all feels like you've entered a living piece of art. Whether you're sitting near the action of the kitchen or in the upstairs balcony, you're positioned to have an exclusive dining experience that will replay in your brain until the next time you can enjoy Mayahuel.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From me, the girl who rarely gets excited about food and my husband, the boy who has dined at prestigious restaurants around the globe.
