This is one of the cleanest and nicest diners on Tremont—and to my knowledge the first Jamaican storefront diner in the area in over a decade. For the past two weeks, I’d been planning to buy their oxtails. I spoke to them on Monday but didn’t purchase anything. Today, I finally bought the oxtails. When I got home, I wasn’t sure they’d taste good—they looked a bit burnt, though they weren’t.I usually get oxtails in Harlem and have for years, but the ones I had today at Montego were some of the sweetest and best I’ve ever eaten. I’m not sure how they cook them, but I’ll be back in a week or two to find out.

Food is top tier! We had oxtail, beef and chicken patties. The patties are real meat and well seasoned; unlike patties made of gravy. I will be back anytime I'm in Bronx. P.s you have to try the nutmeg and cinnamon rasinbread!
