The cocktails were dangerously good. My "Para Sa Paborito Kong Apo" (for my fave grandchild) with gin, mezcal, campari, ginger, citrus sherbet, chile came out flaming, hub’s Calamansi Spritz was pure sunshine, and my brother’s Parusang Hapon and Ambaboy were rich, smoky trouble in a glass. Yum! Every drink slapped, no regrets.Food? Unreal. The Kinilaw was so fresh I wanted to drink the broth. The. Liempo was smoky, sticky joy and the Adobo Rice got mixed tableside like a mini food show. The mains: Kare-Kare, Caldereta, and boneless Alimango (crab, slightly spicy) had me emo in the best way. The staff even sang "Maligayang Araw" (happy birthday) to my bro with a candle in the flan. Amazing service, unforgettable food, cocktails, and dessert. The food was incredible, but the service made the whole experience even better. Huge shoutout to our awesome server Ace and the rest of the friendly, attentive staff. And of course, major props to Chef Eric for cooking up those amazing dishes! Highly recommend this place and 100% will be coming back! 🙌
July 23 · Zoe SalongaThis was an… interesting experience. Most importantly, the food was great. I have been searching for solid Filipino food in NYC and this is it. We enjoyed the KFC chicken, the spring rolls, the lamb chops, and the catch of the day. Standout dishes were the lamb and fish. The lamb was perfectly cooked and tender with a beautifully spiced sauce served with carrots and potatoes. The catch of the day was red snapper with shrimp on top (the shrimp felt unnecessary) and a spiced coconut sauce.The service would have been good but one thing I noticed was off putting to me AND the tables around me. Everyone had to ask for the restaurant week menu. We felt weird asking for it so we just ordered off the regular menu. Even though we found our orders satisfying, this is not acceptable. My table felt this way, as did the tables around us and we didn’t even talk to them. They said so quite loudly on their own. I can tell naks is aiming for a high level of service but this pulled back the curtain aggressively. First, it makes the guest feel they are calling the server out for forgetting something. Second it makes the guest feel like they are being cheap even though the restaurant is the one offering this option. Every menu should be on the table at the same time. No one should have to ask for a missing menu at any high caliber restaurant.Finally, the ambiance is solid. It’s trying to be a bit hip for a formal dining experience. There felt like a bit of a mismatch between the decor and the service. Everything gives off the same vibes as the logo written in bubble letters, I don’t know how to explain that but it makes sense once you eat here. Decor is a solid base, could be made more formal though.

That being said, there were nothing special about the tastes of these dishes either, they all tasted exactly like what you would have imagined. Giving 4 stars overall as none of the dishes exceeded my expectations. Highlights were the fried chicken and the Ube cheesecake.

From the moment we stepped in, the space felt lively, colourful and inviting - we knew we were in for a treat!We tried the KFC, adobo and the Dungeness crab curry. While we enjoyed everything we ordered, the fried chicken (KFC) was my favourite - bursting with flavour, super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Perfection! I love fried chicken and this is one of my favourites I’ve ever eaten.Overall the food was spot on - no notes! Excited to come back with a larger group so as to try more dishes!Drinks wise, I unfortunately found the mocktail I ordered to be much too sweet and couldn’t finish it.Overall a great meal and I will be recommending Naks to my friends !
