While the name Nathan's Famous brings to mind an iconic American experience, it is important for New Yorkers and visitors to understand the nuances of the W 45th St location. The brand is revered for its classic hot dog, a juicy all-beef frankfurter served on a soft bun. The signature crinkle-cut fries, known for their crispy exterior and fluffy interior, are an essential pairing. For many, these two items are the reason to visit. The provided user data also mentions a menu that includes hamburgers, chicken, and other American staples, which are part of the larger Nathan's Famous menu available at other, more established locations.
However, it is crucial to manage expectations, as the experience at this specific location, as highlighted by multiple customer reviews, can be inconsistent. While the food is a recognizable American classic, some customers have expressed disappointment with the value and quality. A review notes, "Overpriced for what you're getting," with a customer being charged a high price for two hot dogs and a small portion of fries. Another review speaks to a more serious issue, citing a significant price discrepancy between the advertised price and the final cost, with the customer being charged $24 for two hot dogs and a water when the sign indicated a much lower price. The review also mentions the hot dogs were cold and the service was "shady."
For those who wish to experience the iconic flavor of a Nathan's Famous hot dog at this particular location, it is worth choosing the classic hot dog with a side of the crinkle-cut fries. These items are the heart of the brand's legacy. However, it is strongly advised to confirm the final price before paying and to be prepared for an experience that is focused on speed rather than on the consistent quality or value that you might find at other, larger Nathan's Famous locations, like the flagship in Coney Island. The food itself, when prepared well, is a classic taste of Americana. The experience at this specific location, however, comes with a caveat.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Overpriced for what you're getting. I usually go to the cart at Bryant park in the middle of the block but I saw this cart first. 18.99 for two hot dogs and (small) fries.?? Other cart charges 15 for 2 HD and larger fries. These ARE NATHANS FAMOUS and are not tr tasteless HD you gey from the regular HD carts so I don't mind paying the price but yall need to have set prices, especially close to one another.
August 16 · dear bossGot charged $24 for 2 dogs and a water. Sign said 9.99 for 2 dogs. We asked what happened. He said the price is $6 for a dog and $6 for a water. So we asked what happened with the other $6, he said additional for taxes and fees. He wouldn't listen when we kept telling him his sign was wrong. Hotdogs were cold too. I've never been or met a shady, scammy, and nasty hotdog cart than like this one.
April 20 · Saffia RahimtoolaIt is supposed to be quite famous. We tried the one down the street from Bryant park metro. Nothing to write home about. It was ok
April 18 · Durba GuptaHave you been to countries like Morocco, Egypt, Turkey, or India? People try to rip you off at every turn. Thankfully with globalization, we can experience some of that here in the US.The guy didn't tell me how much and just took my card. The hotdog was $6.99, so I guess the coke was $8. But he didn't ask for a tip (or baksheesh).
July 25 · EddyRip off - make sure you check the price before you order. $36 for two hot dogs 🧐
