Tucked away on a quiet street in New York City, this sushi restaurant is an escape from the ordinary, promising an intimate, upscale, and deeply personal dining experience. Noda isn't a place for a casual meal; it is a destination for a special occasion, an evening of culinary artistry, and a memorable moment shared with a select few. The restaurant's exclusivity, with its limited seating and reservation-only policy, only adds to its allure, making every visit feel like a truly unique event.
The core of Noda's philosophy is the omakase experience, a Japanese phrase that translates to "I'll leave it up to you." This is far more than just a meal; it is a trust exercise between the diner and the chef, where the chef curates and prepares a multi-course menu based on their expertise, the freshest seasonal ingredients, and their creative vision. Customers consistently describe the experience as "wow'd" and "the best sushi I've had, hands down." The chef and staff at Noda are known for their deep knowledge and personal touch, even going so far as to research their guests to create a more engaging and welcoming atmosphere. This level of personalized service elevates the entire evening, turning a dinner into a shared conversation about the craft of sushi.
The ambiance at Noda is a key part of its appeal. It is described as "cozy," "trendy," and "upscale," a beautiful setting for the culinary performance. The design of the space, including the "beautiful wood counter" and the intimate bar area, is meticulously planned to foster a close connection between the chef and the diners. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect, from the beautifully presented food to the exquisite glasses used for each new sake or wine pairing. The 22-course meal is described as "well balanced and a perfect amount of food," a testament to the chef’s skill in creating a journey of flavors and textures. For those who appreciate the art and tradition of sushi, Noda offers an educational and inspiring experience, where the chef helps you learn more about the meaning and process behind each dish.

### What is worth choosing
Choosing Noda is an investment in a one-of-a-kind dining experience that goes far beyond a typical meal. It’s a choice for those who are not just looking to eat, but to be enchanted. The most compelling reason to choose Noda is the unparalleled intimacy of the omakase counter. In a city of millions, to be one of just a handful of guests at a time creates a truly exclusive and personal atmosphere. This allows for a direct, engaging conversation with the master chef, who can explain the nuances of each course and share the stories behind the ingredients. It is an educational and delightful journey, making the meal feel more like an art performance than just dinner. One customer's review perfectly captures this, stating, "you're in for a treat!" and "the chef and staff are chatting with you the whole time and are so knowledgeable and talented."
The quality of the food is, of course, a paramount reason. Noda's omakase is consistently described by patrons as being "the best sushi I've had, hands down." This level of acclaim is a testament to the chef's skill and the pristine quality of the fish and other ingredients. The menu is not just a selection of food, but a "22 courses" journey that is "well balanced and perfect amount of food," ensuring you leave feeling satisfied and amazed, not overly full. The inclusion of a highly recommended sake and wine pairing program further enhances the experience, with each selection presented in a "new gorgeous glass," showcasing a meticulous attention to detail that permeates every aspect of the restaurant.
Finally, Noda is the ideal choice for a special occasion. The atmosphere is specifically designed to be "cozy," "trendy," and "upscale," making it a perfect backdrop for anniversaries, birthdays, or any celebratory moment. The required reservation and limited seating make it a highly sought-after destination, and the effort to secure a spot makes the resulting experience even more rewarding. It’s the kind of place you recommend to friends and family when they're looking for a "memorable meal and night." The combination of a world-class culinary offering, a deeply personal service style, and a beautiful, intimate setting solidifies Noda's reputation as a top-tier destination for an unforgettable and luxurious dining experience in New York City.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is such a special place — you're in for a treat! We've been coming here for our anniversary for the past two years and it's wow'd us each time. There are only two seatings a day and 8 seats in the entire restaurant, so a very intimate experience. The chef and staff are chatting with you the whole time and are so knowledgeable and talented. They often research their guests as well — they knew all about my partner's work and running hobby. (I guess I was harder to find info on!)The food (as well as sake/wine pairing, which I highly recommend) is SUCH an experience. The best sushi I've had, hands down. Everything is presented so beautifully as well — each new sake and/or wine is brought in a new gorgeous glass. This is always at the top of my recommendation list for friends and family seeking the right spot to celebrate a special occasion.
April 29 · LorenA wonderful and memorable meal and night. From food to service the entire meal was excellent. The 22 courses is well balanced and perfect amount of food. And for those who enjoy omakase the experience still helps teach you more about the meaning and process behind everything chef tsunoda does. The restaurant is just as beautiful in person too. We will be back for sure.

May 07 · Patricia MoonBest omakase experience! From sitting next to the chef, engaging in interesting conversations about Japanese culture, to the excellent service and gorgeous glassware. The food was delicious, and we tried the sake pairing—it was a great idea, as it complemented all the courses on the menu. Definitely a well-earned Michelin star!
February 18 · GabbyMy girlfriend and I have slowly been making our way through the plethora of omakase restaurants in NYC. I reserved this tasting counter for her birthday and we were not disappointed. This was the most high end tasting we’ve done, yet the staff and the chef did not make the environment feel rigid or too proper. They were professional yet personable, very knowledgeable and made the experience an incredibly fun time for all. They kept things loose, for lack of a better term. The chef had a great charisma and you could tell he took such pride in his work. The food, immaculate and well done. At one point the chef asked if there was too much or too little wasabi in the nigiri. I simply replied “it’s perfect” because he was a true master of his craft. The environment was incredibly welcoming and it felt as though the staff loved what they did. We received a complimentary glass of bourbon and white wine for my girlfriend’s birthday, a wonderful end to the night. The pictures I took are limited as I try to immerse myself in the experience while I’m there, but the food was too beautiful not to grab a few pics. Well worth the money, do not hesitate to book!
