O'Hara's Restaurant and Pub Introduce
In a city that is constantly reinventing itself, some places hold on to their history and become true landmarks. O'Hara's Restaurant and Pub, located in the heart of New York's Financial District, is one such establishment. More than just a place to grab a meal or a drink, O'Hara's is a piece of New York City's living history. It's a classic American pub with a distinctly Irish soul, known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, great food, and a powerful story of resilience. For locals and tourists alike, O'Hara's offers a genuine and heartfelt New York experience that goes far beyond its menu.
What makes O'Hara's so special is its dual identity. On one hand, it's a beloved local pub where regulars can catch a game, enjoy a perfectly poured pint of Guinness, and feel right at home. On the other, it stands as a living tribute to the heroes of September 11th. Situated just a stone's throw from where the Twin Towers once stood, the pub was badly damaged in the attacks. Yet, it was one of the first establishments in the area to reopen, quickly becoming a haven for recovery workers and first responders. The walls are now famously adorned with thousands of patches from police and fire departments around the world, a poignant and powerful display of solidarity and respect.
The atmosphere is casual, cozy, and filled with a sense of camaraderie. It's a place where you can feel the history, but in a way that is comforting and hopeful, not somber. Whether you're a local seeking a familiar spot for a late-night bite or a visitor looking to understand a piece of the city's spirit, O'Hara's offers an unforgettable experience.
---O'Hara's Restaurant and Pub is conveniently situated at 120 Cedar St, New York, NY 10006, USA. The pub is just a short walk from the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, providing easy connections to multiple subway lines (including the A, C, E, 1, 2, 3, R, and W) and the PATH train. This makes it a perfect stop for a meal or a drink after visiting the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
While street parking can be challenging in this dense area, the excellent public transportation options make getting to O'Hara's a breeze. The restaurant is designed to be welcoming to all guests, with a wheelchair-accessible entrance and seating. This commitment to accessibility ensures that everyone can enjoy the historic atmosphere and great food. The location is not just convenient; it's a meaningful part of the restaurant's identity, tying it directly to the history and resilience of its neighborhood.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Had a great time at O’Hara’s Pub! The Guinness was perfectly poured, the staff were quick and friendly, and the burger was awesome. Highly recommend for anyone visiting downtown Manhattan.
August 01 · Petar MandacI stopped by O'Hara's for a quick drink on a Saturday afternoon. It was around 12 PM and it was already pretty busy.Fortunately I found a seat at the bar, and immediately felt at home. The staff here are very warm and friendly. The walls are filled with police and firefighter patches, along with tons of 9/11 decor. This isn't surprising since O'Hara's is literally next to ground zero.I'll definitely return and try the food. It looks delicious!
March 22 · Alex GGreat find on the way from 9/11 Memorial. Good selection of drinks, friendly service and great atmosphere. Fantastic choice of rock music. I've been living in London for the last 18 years and I have to say none of my favourite bars there have such a great music. I know, it's very personal but... Going to visit again at the nearest opportunity.
June 23 · Sylwia BMozzarella cheeseburger was good. Table was a bit too small to be comfortable. Great tribute to all Fire/EMS/Police, with patches and stickers lining the doors, ceiling ,and walls. This was especially good for this location so close to the 911 memorial. Bring a patch to add from your station and an appetite.
July 27 · Marquis SmithI absolutely loved my visit here. The bar staff are so friendly and welcoming even went out of their way to make room for me when it was crazy crowded. Yummy bar food and drinks, fun atmosphere and let me have a look at their photo book from the 9/11 tragedy 🩵 don't miss a visit here it's in the heart of the beautiful Financial District.
