★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My husband and I had a fantastic dining experience at Oheya (part of Uchi). This is the only location in Texas so we were very excited to try!Our 15-course omakase was very intimate, set in a private room behind Uchi. There were two other couples here with us so we all had some nice conversation! The server helping was very attentive and friendly. We were helped with sparkling water and wine throughout the dinner and she always made sure we were well taken care of.The chefs were all knowledgeable and so good at what they do. We enjoyed asking them many questions about their work and about the dishes that they've prepared! It was so cool seeing the behind the scenes of each dish and the types of fish used. We even saw a giant octopus!Everything truly tasted amazing — my favorite items from this particular month’s menu being the ika tartare, kasugodai with mint oil, bluefins, and the ginger ice cream. Literally need to know how they made that ice cream dessert!
March 31 · Yen DobsonCame to this from out of town and first time having omakase. It was quite an experience that’s worth the price. Service was amazing as the staff took time to introduce the food and honestly they are really happy to serve you and chat about anything. Each sushi and dish is a delicious explosion of flavor and my brain was trying to process everything with everything that is going on. Quality and flavor is amazing. Definitely recommend it!
October 02 · Shaye ZVery small but still a great atmosphere. Food is exceptional and service is outstanding. It’s Uchi but a more intimate level and with a focus on nigiri. Excellent dishes and would highly recommend.
April 12 · Joseph FrasierOheya is an omakase style restaurant that just excels in both quality and overall experience! As soon as you walk in, it's like you're instantly transported to Japan. The environment is beautiful, employees are tentative, and friendly. The menu is always evolving every 2 months. So there's no reason to not stop in and experience something new on each visit.I've included a picture of the current menu for Nov '24. While the menu is in order of the photos uploaded. The chef's were kind enough to include some specials for us. So there's a few that aren't on the menu.Watch a few of the videos to see the precision and detail that is taken on each serving."We" personally loved this experience mainly because the attentiveness of the chefs that was direct at us as a group. It gave us a sense of focused attentiveness when enjoying the over all experience.Loved how each group had different start / end times, so everyone received the same attention to detail.Oheya is at the top of their game and number 1 in our book.We can't wait to return to try more.Thank you for a wonderful experience.Leave a comment on your favorites!Until next time.
November 17 · Stoc Ish (Stocish)Very intimate dinning experience, service was good, presentations were also good. Wine pairings was ok to me but if you are expecting more authentic Japanese style pairings this won’t be it. And one thing bothers me is there’s always a layer of coarse salt between fish and rice which almost prevents you to taste the sweetness of the fish and rice plus it messes up the smooth texture. Not sure if it’s a “signature” here but with all other great spices and unique flavored dressing this layer of salt is just too noticeable in a confusing way.
