★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Loved the food. We got the yakizakana set. For the fish, the yellowtail tasted very good and fresh. It was well cooked. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere here is calm. Adds the perfect touch to the Japanese culture. Will come backAlso, you don’t necessarily need a reservation for the manhattan location as opposed to Brooklyn’s. Went on a weekend day, plenty of seats available.
April 08 · Tsering gurungLoved their pop up last summer & glad they share space in Manhattan so I don’t need to trek to Brooklyn. We made a reservation beforehand but it turned out not being so important.I love you can get authentic Japanese breakfast in NYC & my friend loved it too! I got the black cod marinated in yuzu soy sauce & she got the Hana h grilled collar. Love you can choose 3 or 5 sides & they change their fish options based on what’s available.I went yesterday (still the heat wave) & I got offered a refreshing glass of cold barley tea! The cod was tender and flavorful! The gosai (5 sides) tomatoes over tofu spread, burdock, broccoli, egg omelette roll, and cole slaw. (These change too)The meal was complete with a bowl of white rice & miso soup. I love a warm breakfast with fish & vegetables.I had to try the Hojicha panna cotta - light, creamy with hint of Hojicha without being too sweet. A great ending for this great brunch!
June 26 · A IGot the shrimp tsukemen. Noodles had a nice chew to it, dipping sauce was properly thick and flavorful - but a bit on the salty side. Great service and love how they have the little bins for your bags just like restaurants do in Japan.
July 13 · Stella LamWe had an incredible experience at this pop up! Having been to the original location many years ago I was excited to try their food again in a bigger space. I love that breakfast and dinner options are available all day! We ordered an unagi bowl with five sides, the tuna confit mazeman and some sake. Everything was delicious! The unagi was perfect and we loved sampling the five sides. I'm a sucker for omelette. The tuna confit mazeman was outstanding. The noodles were thick and chewy, the toppings had great flavor and texture. We also enjoyed both sakes we tried and would definitely return to sample more dishes!
September 23 · Alex WileyGreat breakfast, lunch & brunch place to eat delicate and pretty Japanese bites. Ordered 5 pieces Japanese breakfast. Fish is the main dish. Three choices. I recommend Tai fish and swordfish.Recommend trying all the add-ons. There are four of them. Pictures and caption added for the details of the food I ordered.
