Prawnaholic Collections Introduce
Prawnaholic Collections offers a rare and authentic slice of Singaporean hawker culture right in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Located at 135 W 50th Street, this isn't your typical New York restaurant; it's a dedicated hawker stall that brings the vibrant, flavorful, and deeply comforting experience of Singaporean street food to the city. For New Yorkers who crave authentic Asian cuisine, Prawnaholic Collections provides a unique opportunity to explore dishes that are often hard to find outside of Southeast Asia. The focus is on a few core menu items, each prepared with a commitment to traditional recipes and bold, authentic flavors. The name itself, Prawnaholic, hints at its specialty: rich, savory prawn and pork rib noodle soups that are the star of the show, alongside other classic wok-fried favorites.
What sets Prawnaholic Collections apart is its ability to deliver the genuine essence of a hawker stall experience. The concept, which is part of a larger food hall, is designed to be a quick, casual, and delicious dining option for locals and office workers in the area. The atmosphere is bustling and lively, mirroring the communal and no-frills environment of a true hawker center. The food itself is the main attraction, with a strong emphasis on rich, complex broths and a powerful "wok hei"—the smoky, charred flavor that comes from expert wok frying. This dedication to authentic preparation is what has earned it a loyal following. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch to take back to the office or settling in for a satisfying dinner, the food at Prawnaholic Collections provides a delicious and comforting escape from the everyday. One reviewer's sentiment, "I wish I live & work here, so I can eat lunch here everyday," perfectly captures the addictive and high-quality nature of the food.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is pretty authentic for a hawker stall. Although they use de-shelled crab meat it is still pretty good. You can’t expect full crab legs with the shell esp for cafeteria style dining. Sauce is on-point and spiciness level is good. Love that it comes with the fried buns. Will probably order with a side of rice next time so we can soak up the extra sauce.
August 09 · Donna SWhat I ordered (11.1 & S2) was sooooooo good - I cleaned the plates! I wish I live & work here, so I can eat lunch here everyday 😩😍😭 You will have to ask for hot sauces if you like spicy food.Just in case you are a tourist, the bathroom is in the lower level and requires a code that you can find on your receipt.
July 13 · K EThis was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. This so-called Singaporean restaurant is absolutely not authentic, and the food was a complete disaster from start to finish. What we were served looked nothing like the photos on the menu — totally misleading. The Singapore Char Kway Teow was bland and poorly cooked, and the pork had such a foul taste it made me question how fresh the ingredients really were. The Seafood Crispy Noodle was inedibly salty — it was so disgusting, we couldn’t take more than a bite and ended up throwing everything in the trash. That’s how bad it was.Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. It’s a waste of time, money, and appetite.
April 05 · T JoeThe white beehoon (vermicelli noodle) will definitely cure your home sickness if you are from Singapore or Malaysia. Portion is substantial, you can taste the “wok hei” (char) and it just felt so good after.
June 02 · Jean NgI recently visited Prawnaholic with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience left me disappointed. One of the biggest letdowns was the temperature of the food — despite it being made on the spot, everything came out lukewarm at best. It's hard to enjoy seafood, especially prawns, when it's not hot and fresh.Additionally, I ordered oysters, and to my surprise, there were only three on the plate. For a place that prides itself on seafood, I expected a little more generosity, especially considering the price. The lack of attention to detail in temperature and portion sizes made the meal underwhelming. It's a shame because Prawnaholic has the potential to be a great spot, but I left feeling let down. Hopefully, they'll take these aspects into account and improve moving forward.
