Went with a large group of people to Shukette. Definitely make a reservation for weeks in advance, because this place is always booked! The bread is so fresh, hot, tasty and I’m not a bread fan but I’m a fan of this bread. The lamb was a very small portion, most portions are small here, but the lamb tender perfect seasoning. The shrimp was tasty, not a big enough potion for me. There was also a beautiful kale dish that came with pistachios and a nice sauce. The rice was very good. Again small portion. Everything here is a la carte. The ice cream wasn’t doing anything for me and I doubt if it would do anything for you. There was a mix of tahini gelato with caramel nuts and some raspberry something that was so off. It’s a no for me on that. The price is pricey and you’re going to need to order a lot of stuff to feel “full” or satiated due to portion size. Great for large groups, date night. Ambiance is nice but a bit loud. And the spaces are tight. - R M

Shukette Introduce

Shukette, located in the heart of Chelsea, is not just a restaurant; it's a vibrant and energetic celebration of Middle Eastern and Levantine cuisine. As the "mischievous sister" restaurant to the popular Shuka, Shukette has quickly established itself as one of the most sought-after dining destinations in New York City. The name, derived from the Hebrew word for "open-air market," or "shuk," perfectly captures the restaurant's ethos: a lively, communal space where the food is meant to be shared and the atmosphere is always buzzing. Stepping inside, you're greeted with a warm, trendy, and bustling environment centered around a large open kitchen, where the chefs work their magic, infusing the air with the tantalizing aromas of spices, herbs, and charcoal-grilled meats.

This women-owned establishment, helmed by the creative and acclaimed Chef Ayesha Nurdjaja, has become famous for its innovative approach to traditional Middle Eastern flavors. The menu is a feast for the senses, designed around the "rip 'n' dip" style of eating that encourages a shared and interactive experience. From the pillowy, freshly baked breads to the array of delicious dips and spreads, every dish is a conversation starter. The food is elevated yet accessible, with a focus on bold, fresh ingredients and simple preparations that highlight the natural flavors. While the portions for some dishes are designed as small plates to be shared, the quality and taste are consistently top-tier, making every bite a discovery.

Beyond the food, Shukette is known for its energetic and romantic atmosphere, which makes it an ideal spot for a date night, a celebratory dinner with a large group, or even a solo meal at the chef's counter. The restaurant's great cocktail and wine list, featuring local and specialty drinks, complements the food perfectly. The combination of its culinary excellence, vibrant ambiance, and dedicated, friendly staff—who are often praised by customers—creates an unforgettable dining experience that is both a culinary journey and a party. It's a place where the music is lively, the conversations are flowing, and the food is undeniably delicious.
