★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Honestly? The food and the prices were really nice. Our initial waiter was kind and we were enjoying our time. However, we were surprised to see the restaurant automatically adding an 18% tip to the final bill and then expecting a separate tip. We asked why is that and the kind waiter said “I am not sure, the system started doing this automatically but we can remove it if you want” to which I agreed. Then a senior waiter who was obviously not in the mood during our whole dinner came by to tell us that they removed the automated tip from the bill but we *must* tip them in cash. I said okay and he kept repeating himself three times, trying to make sure I understand, probably. We did leave some tip because we liked our food and the first waiter was nice but this guy and the sketchy tip system really ruin the experience. Not to mention the old guy was acting weird the whole time. First, he just took one of our menus out of our hands without asking once new customers arrived. Then he handed us the bill before we even asked for it (as we were still eating). And finally, he took one of our chairs while a person from our group was in the bathroom. Yes, it was after we paid and were about to leave in a couple of minutes but it was very disrespectful as my sister came back from the bathroom and had no chair. Such a bummer as this place has the potential to be great.
July 26 · Valentin DurchevThis place was really great. We got the Peking duck and crab Rangoon. Daniel, our waiter, was kind and even taught us how to make the duck wraps. 18% tip was included which was fine. The food was really good. Only thing I’d say was a bit of a negative is when we asked for more of the wraps and cucumber for the duck we were told it was an 8 dollar charge. We declined the extra and just ate the rest of the duck by itself.
June 10 · Baron Mora AlcazarFor a Chinese Restaurant in China Town, I was expecting a lot more better. The won ton soup was a bit bland, the skin of the shrimp dumplings ~ Ha Kau was a bit thick. The Shanghai Soup Dumplings was exceptional though. The service was fast and the waiters were very friendly, also the owner came to our table to ensure that everything goes well. The could improve the interior so the the atmosphere gets better.
March 16 · AdvantoursSichuan Hot Pot Cuisine in Chinatown, NYC, is a vibrant and flavorful destination for anyone craving authentic Sichuan hot pot. The restaurant offers an immersive dining experience where you get to cook your own meal at the table, making it both interactive and delicious. The menu is packed with a wide variety of fresh ingredients, from thinly sliced meats and seafood to an array of vegetables, mushrooms, and tofu. The highlight here is the broth, with multiple options available, including the signature spicy Sichuan-style broth, which delivers a perfect balance of heat, bold flavors, and fragrant spices. The famous Sichuan peppercorns provide a numbing sensation that perfectly complements the fiery spiciness, making for a truly unique taste experience. For those who prefer something milder, there are also non-spicy broth choices available. What sets Sichuan Hot Pot Cuisine apart is the quality and freshness of the ingredients, the attentive service, and the authentic atmosphere. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, helping you navigate the menu and make recommendations based on your spice tolerance. Whether you're a hot pot enthusiast or trying it for the first time, this restaurant is a must-visit for an authentic and satisfying Sichuan experience in the heart of Chinatown.
December 31 · John GonsalvesFood was C at best. (No one got sick.) but the service and portion was overpriced. We will go somewhere else next time.
