SourAji distinguishes itself with several key features that make it a standout choice for Japanese dining in New York.
Omakase and All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE): This is perhaps SourAji's most unique feature. It combines the traditional omakase format—where the chef selects the courses—with an all-you-can-eat option for additional rounds. After the initial set of courses, diners can continue to order more of their favorite pieces, as long as they finish what they order. This provides an incredible value and allows for a truly satisfying and personalized experience.
Premium Offerings: Unlike many other AYCE omakase spots, SourAji focuses on high-end ingredients. This includes sought-after items like tuna toro (fatty tuna) and Wagyu beef. These premium offerings elevate the dining experience significantly and provide a substantial upgrade over what might be found at other similar establishments.
Extensive Drink Menu: The restaurant offers a wide range of beverages, including beer, wine, hard liquor, and a special AYCE drink package. This includes unique items like plum wine, which complements the food perfectly.

Choosing SourAji is about more than just getting a meal; it's about investing in a memorable and truly satisfying dining experience. The value proposition here is exceptional, as highlighted by many satisfied customers. One of the main reasons to choose SourAji is its focus on quality over quantity, even within an all-you-can-eat model. While other places might offer a broader range of lower-quality items, SourAji prides itself on serving premium fish that is generally thicker and more flavorful. The inclusion of high-end cuts like tuna toro and luxurious Wagyu sets a new standard for AYCE omakase in New York. This focus on premium ingredients ensures that every bite is a delightful experience.
Another key factor is the overall 'omakase' feel of the place. Unlike conveyor belt sushi spots, SourAji offers a more intimate and chef-driven experience. The service is often praised as excellent, with attentive staff and fresh ingredients that make a difference. The all-inclusive nature of their dining package, which can include unlimited miso soup and an optional all-you-can-drink package with selections like plum wine, adds to the value and enjoyment. Customers consistently note that they feel "a lot more satisfy" after dining here compared to other well-known sushi spots. The "bang for the buck" is a recurring theme in reviews, with many diners feeling they received a great deal for the quality of food and service provided. Whether you're a tourist looking for an authentic New York culinary experience or a local in search of a new favorite, SourAji is a destination that promises to deliver on its reputation for excellence, making it a truly worthwhile choice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Highly recommend booking ahead of time. This is the second AYCE omakase I have been to and I believe is better than the first one. The fish overall are thicker in general that the other place. This place focus on tuna toro and Wagyu for the extra pieces. While the other one has scallop, it really depends which one you want to go for.AYC drink also bring a different aspect to this. There are plum wine which is a personal favorite. I feel the drink selection for a AYCE and drink is much better here than the other. You might call this a more “omakase” feel while the other is more converter belt like.As a matter of fact, I would skip sushi by bou and come here instead. You will feel a lot more satisfy. Also, mochi ice cream in the end. This is very good bang for the buck. Other AYCE omakase offer scallop but this place offer tuna, otoro and Wagyu. Would come again.
July 02 · Don LuiThis was a really fun omakase. The service is excellent, and the fish is fresh. The sake does not stop flowing. Come here really hungry. After your 14 course you have 3 more rounds of limitless ordering but make sure you order exact because you have to finish what you order on top. Unlimited miso soup too!
July 02 · marina deeA small, intimate restaurant that’s definitely worth booking in advance. You can sit at the omakase counter and watch the skilled chef prepare each dish or opt for a traditional table seat. The service was both professional and relaxed, which made the experience even better. We started with a set menu featuring sushi that just kept getting better with each bite. At the end, we could order freely, with the simple rule that we finish everything. The 90-minute dining experience was well-paced, and the sake tasting was a great addition. Highly recommend for sushi lovers!
March 30 · Tuukka AhonenThe all you can drink and eat omakase experience was amazing. Kudos to the staff for letting us sit before our reservation started. Thanks for the chef to allow me to reorder 10 additional pieces of wagyu sushi. And lastly huge thanks to Thai! For the drinks refills and extra Mochi ice cream!!!!
May 21 · Eugene LeeWe tried the all you can eat omakase experience at SourAji and while the food was delicious, the experience was quite rushed. Make sure you arrive on time because they basically start right at the time your reservation is. The first 14 courses of the omakase was a blur and the fish was great. If you sit at the bar, the drinks require you to flag down the waiter to pour you more. The all you can eat portion comes in 3 rounds and you have to specify how many pieces of each round you want and that’s all you get. The pieces are quite big so you fill up quite fast. Would recommend trying once but maybe not again.
