SUGARFISH by sushi nozawa Introduce
## Introduction / Overview
In a city with no shortage of sushi options, **SUGARFISH by sushi nozawa** has carved out a unique and celebrated space for itself. Hailing from a philosophy rooted in the traditions of legendary sushi chef Kazunori Nozawa, this restaurant offers a sushi experience that is both simple and deeply satisfying. The core of the SUGARFISH concept is its "Trust Me" menus, which are carefully curated omakase-style selections that allow diners to put their trust in the chef's expertise. The focus here is on the purity and quality of the ingredients—from the warmth of the loosely-packed rice to the pristine freshness of the fish. This dedication to tradition and quality has earned it a devoted following in New York City. A major highlight that sets it apart is its "no tipping establishment" policy, which simplifies the dining experience and ensures fair compensation for its staff. This transparent pricing model, combined with an efficient system for managing waits, makes a visit to SUGARFISH a streamlined and enjoyable affair. Customers rave about the food being "so tasty and fresh," with one reviewer noting that the sushi itself was "amazing." The atmosphere is described as casual yet upmarket, providing a comfortable setting for both a quick lunch or a more leisurely dinner. SUGARFISH is not just a place for a meal; it’s a place where the art of traditional sushi is presented in a modern, accessible, and highly refined way.
---## Location and Accessibility
SUGARFISH by sushi nozawa is conveniently located at **202 Spring St, New York, NY 10012**, right in the heart of SoHo. This area is a bustling hub of activity, making the restaurant easily accessible from various parts of Manhattan and beyond. For those using public transportation, the restaurant is a short walk from several key subway stations, including the Spring Street station (C and E lines) and the Prince Street station (N, Q, R, and W lines). Its location on a well-known street in a popular neighborhood means it’s a prime spot for a meal after shopping, a gallery visit, or a walk through the area.
The restaurant is also committed to accessibility, featuring a **wheelchair-accessible entrance, seating, and toilet**. While the area can be busy, SUGARFISH has a great system in place to handle crowds. As a no-reservations establishment, they have a system where you can leave your number and name, and they will text you when your table is almost ready. This allows guests to explore the nearby shops or grab a drink at a local bar while they wait, turning a potential inconvenience into a convenient way to pass the time. This thoughtful approach to customer service, combined with its fantastic location, ensures a smooth and pleasant experience for all diners.

- **No-Tipping Policy:** As a "no tipping establishment," the prices you see on the menu are the final prices. This transparent and fair approach is highly appreciated by customers and ensures a consistent, professional level of service from the entire staff.

The "Trust Me" menus provide a perfectly paced progression of dishes, allowing you to enjoy a variety of nigiri and hand rolls without having to think about each selection individually. It's a comprehensive tasting that showcases the best of what the restaurant has to offer on that particular day.
For those looking for a more concise yet equally delicious experience, the standard **"Trust Me"** or **"Trust Me Lite"** are excellent options that offer a fantastic range of items, including pristine sashimi, nigiri, and the famous Blue and Dungeness Crab hand roll. The quality of the fish is a consistent highlight, with customers praising the freshness and taste of items like the Tuna Sashimi and Japanese Yellowtail. The hand rolls, in particular, are a standout. The **Toro Hand Roll** and the **Blue and Dungeness Crab Hand Roll** are famous for their warm rice and crisp seaweed, which are a signature of the Nozawa style. For a more substantial meal, adding a la carte items like the **Otoro** or the **Uni** from the "Limited Availability" menu is a great way to indulge. What is truly worth choosing at SUGARFISH is the experience itself—the elegant simplicity, the uncompromising quality, and the seamless service that makes every piece of sushi feel like a special, singular moment. This is a place that proves that sometimes, the best choice is to simply "Trust Me."

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1You can’t reserve, but they have a great system. You can leave your number / name and they’ll shoot you a text when you’re soon to be seated. Great to go be able to sit somewhere else nearby while you wait for your table. We were seated at the bar, very helpful and friendly staff. The sushi itself was amazing. They had a tasting menu with a lot of smaller options, would definitely recommend!!Best part, it’s a ‘no tipping establishment’. Prices you see are what they are, fantastic.
April 05 · TitoOne of my fave sushi spots when I visit NYC. Everything is so tasty and fresh ❤️🔥Only reason for not 5 stars, is because it’s freezing inside the restauant - I think they can moderate the AC a bit more! lol
August 22 · Sacha Rose CramerI visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from a friend. I ordered the “Trust Me” menu for $39, which included 8 dishes. Everything was incredibly delicious and of high quality. Each dish was served in the order as stated in the menu, so once I finished one, the next one arrived. By the sixth dish, I was already full, but everything tasted so good that I couldn’t leave anything behind. This is the first place in the US where I experienced a no-tipping policy – “WE ARE A NO TIPPING ESTABLISHMENT,” which was a pleasant surprise. I also want to highlight the cleanliness of the restaurant, including the restrooms. They even have two types of soap and offer unscented soap for washing hands before eating. Additionally, there were reminders for staff about hand hygiene. It’s a great place, and I would definitely love to come back.
March 30 · AlinaThe food here is so good! They have multiple preset options to pick for. Beware though, they don’t have dessert, so I recommend stopping by the mochi spot on the next block after dinner. Overall, I was very impressed by the efficiency of this restaurant. They don’t take reservations, so you need to put your name down and get a text to come back. We have been here twice already and the wait was over an hour both times for Saturday night dinner. With lots of options to grab a drink nearby or even do a shopping trip to Anthropologie across the street, it isn’t a bad wait at all totally worth it!
April 28 · Martina RusevaSugarfish was outstanding! The sushi was unbelievably fresh, perfectly prepared, and bursting with flavor. The staff were warm and attentive, making the whole experience feel special and memorable.
