Choosing Terra Thai is a decision to prioritize authentic flavor, convenience, and a truly welcoming experience over a large, formal dining space. While some reviewers note the lack of seating inside, the fact that this is openly stated and still earns the restaurant rave reviews is a testament to the quality of its food and service. The owner is the heart of the business, and her dedication is evident in every dish and interaction. One customer's review sums it up perfectly: while the Pad See Ew "was maybe a 3.5/5," the overall "good experience as a whole makes this place a 5 for me." This speaks volumes about the restaurant's intangible value—the feeling of being welcomed and cared for.
The food itself is a major reason to visit. Dishes are consistently described as "fresh" and "tasty," with favorites like the Beef Panang Curry standing out as a must-try. The menu is focused and offers a reliable selection of Thai staples, including the famous Pad Thai and Basil Chicken. The availability of healthy, vegetarian, and vegan options also makes it a versatile and considerate choice for a diverse customer base. The "Thai Iced Tea" is a popular item that provides a refreshing balance to the rich and savory food.
The convenience factor cannot be overstated. For a fast-paced city like New York, having a spot that offers high-quality comfort food with a focus on quick takeout and reliable delivery is a huge plus. The pre-cooked dishes are a smart solution for a fast lunch, while the option to order anything fresh allows for a more personalized meal. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Charming place and owner! They have some of their most popular dishes cooked and heated towards the entrance but you can also order anything you don’t see to be madeSuper convenient and friendly service. Note that there is no seating inside. The pad see ew with chicken ($12) was maybe a 3.5/5 but it’s a very comforting dish and the good experience as a whole makes this place a 5 for me. Also the plants are so cute!
July 12 · AixaWhat-a unique experience in the middle of the lower east side. I felt i was eating at grandmas thai place. The Beef panang curry was my favorite dish and i truly enjoyed how fresh the food is. A take out heaven and a must to try on a low key afternoon
January 31 · rodney muñozFood is so tasty every single time. The owner is really friendly, and the food is just consistently amazing every time I get it.Lots of cute plants to browse through and buy as well.Personally love the chicken drunken noodles, tom kha, and of course, a Thai iced tea.
August 17 · Ruhi SakrikarYou can order or they have to-gos ready, either way the food is so fresh and delicious! The papaya salad is the best I’ve had. They are so nice too and immediately greet me every time!
August 22 · Domi MooreThe basil chicken over rice was simply amazing. The pad see ew was okay. It lacked a bit of flavor and dimension that I often find at other Thai restaurants. However, the prices are great. The portions are a bit small; so it would be nice if they had optional larger sizes for a slightly higher price?I’d certainly recommend giving Terra Thai a visit. There’s not much indoor seating besides a small makeshift counter with stools. They are definitely a takeout place. The staff and owner is very friendly. I’m sure I’ll be back for the basil chicken over rice.
