★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Outstanding! We think this is one of the finest restaurants in Houston. It's small, intimate, and cozy. After the pandemic downsizing, it's now back up to nine tables, plus a few seats at the bar. What's still great and unchanged here is the food and the service. Over the past 20 years we've had just about every dish they have ever offered, and I have posted several detailed reviews. A couple with whom we dine out several times a year, who are more expert gourmands than we will ever be assert that the Lexington Grille's ordinary (and inexpensive) chicken dishes are all better than meals they have eaten in Michelin starred restaurants. Call a few days ahead and have them make potato soup (bisque) for you; they will. Try it! Better yet, call and ask them to fix something not on their regular menu. The owner works on site almost every night we've ever been there. Weeknights (and sometimes Saturday) are usually not crowded, but DO make reservations. Call ahead for the specials, and if it's any fish or chicken dish, jump on it!
April 25 · William BlairHas become one of our favorite spots for a romantic dinner, entertaining friends, or celebrating special times. We have never been disappointed. Been in business since 1994 and I can understand why. Reminiscent if the days when you we’re welcomed to a restaurant and made to fell like they were glad and appreciated you came. Never feel rushed or that they are just trying to “turn the table”. Cypriano, our usual waiter, is friendly, attentive and always has suggestions to try and many times we leave our selections to him. The last appetizer he suggested was a trio of Shrimp Scampi, Scallop With Raspberry Glaze and Crab Cake with Hollandaise. The NY Strip with Peppercorn Sauce is superb. The lamb chops are perfectly cooked and seasoned. Only problem with the Pork Chop is that it is so generous, we always need to bring some home. The fish is always flakey and flavorful. The desserts are a must try. Last visit we sampled the Chocolate Mousse Cake and Bread Pudding aka mode. Definitely enough to share with 4…and oh so GOOD!!! Definitely keeping it on my “go-to list” whenever needing a quiet restaurant for a special occasion…and “wanting to impress”!!
October 12 · John KiappesThe Lexington Grille is one of Houston's hidden gems. This place has some of the best food in the city. I always take my family here when they visit - My sister says it's the best food she's EVER had!The fish is consistently amazing, and their vegetables are always done just right. I also love their fresh bread and pesto. It's a beautiful restaurant that's been around for 28 years. The owner Hossein is absolutely delightful. He treats everyone like royalty! There are a few rooms that vary in noise level (none are too loud), so you can request a quiet room if you prefer more private dining, or you can sit at the bar - everyone is super friendly! If you're looking for a high quality dining experience with great people in a beautiful, intimate atmosphere, The Lexington Grille is your place! Perfect place for a romantic date, too.I'm not sure why it never comes up when I search for restaurants in Houston - The Lexington Grille is definitely a "best kept secret!"Can't say enough good things about this restaurant.
October 21 · Ashley DevittI was in Houston on a business trip and was looking for a good place to eat. So glad I found this restaurant.First impression was very positive with extremely friendly greetings from all the staff we passed. Our waiter was also very personable and explained the different options and specials. The food was fantastic. I got the beef tenderloin with brandy mushroom sauce and peppercorn sauce (there were a number of different options offered in terms of how the meat should be cooked, as well as multiple options for sauce). The waiter offered to bring me both sauces on the side so I could try them both and see which I liked more. The meat was extremely tender and an even medium as ordered and the sauces were delicious. The sides were tasty although I could have done with just a little more. The only thing I would recommend is getting some updated prices online. The prices for the entrees are all about $20 cheaper online than actually on the menu, which was a little bit of a surprise. But all in all a great experience and very satisfying meal.
April 27 · Josh KuttererWe have been coming here for years - maybe 25? It is a small, neighborhood restaurant with very warm service. Hussein the owner is always there and always greets you like a long time friend. The bar service is great and the food is always really good. And if you want something off the menu it is almost impossible to stump them.
