### What is worth choosing
When you choose to dine at Tu Cachapa, you are choosing an authentic and culturally rich experience that extends beyond the food itself. What makes this restaurant truly worth choosing is its commitment to a specific, beloved style of Venezuelan cooking. The main attraction is, of course, the cachapa—a unique and savory item that is not commonly found in other cuisines. The ability to find a fresh, well-prepared version of this dish is a major draw. For those who enjoy rich, comfort food, the menu offers a selection of small plates and quick bites that are both satisfying and easy to enjoy on the go. The focus on staples like arepas and empanadas provides a reliable and delicious option for lunch or dinner.
However, it is also important to consider the feedback from some customers. One reviewer noted a disappointment with the cheese content in their empanadas, feeling it was "less" than expected. This kind of feedback can be a helpful reminder that consistency can sometimes be a challenge, as it is with many small, local businesses. On the other hand, the overwhelmingly positive sentiment from another customer who "loved" the food and felt it was as if they had "been coming there for years" speaks volumes about the restaurant's ability to create a sense of home and familiarity through its cooking. This positive feeling, a testament to the food’s flavor and quality, is a compelling reason to visit and form your own opinion.
Beyond the food, the fact that Tu Cachapa is a women-owned business is a powerful reason to support it. In a city like New York, supporting small, minority-owned businesses contributes to the vibrancy and diversity of the local economy. Furthermore, the inclusive atmosphere, being an LGBTQ+ friendly and transgender safespace, makes it a welcoming spot for a wide range of people, creating a safe and comfortable environment for all diners. This combination of authentic cuisine, a strong sense of community, and a commitment to inclusivity makes Tu Cachapa a compelling choice for anyone in New York looking for a meaningful and delicious dining experience. It's a place where you can find not just a meal, but a taste of a different culture and a truly welcoming space.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have been coming here for years. I usually order 2 empanadas and am ready to dig in.😵 I bit into the first 1 and found drops of cheese. I move to the second, even less. My last time coming here😔. Bought two empanadas and a chinola juice. $9. The juice was ok.
April 29 · Francis VFood Tasted So Good Felt Like I been coming there for years love it food was so good
May 02 · Hazelnutxxx PornstarExtremely disappointed at this place. I don’t know if it’s because they got new cooks or something, but the patacon was soggy and they didn’t add enough lettuce and tomatoes. The chicken was hardly seasoned. Same thing with the chachapa, the corn part of it was soggy and not cooked all the way. I never asked them to put cheese but they did. Another issue is that they only added 1 tomato and not enough green lettuce in there. It was giving cheap and no effort. These prices are not even affordable for them to not try to give a decent presentation along with the taste. They stingy with the sauce too if you try to ask for extra. If you want real good cachapa, just go to Dykman “cachapa y mas” this place is not worth it.
April 23 · Nadia ManzuetaI don’t know what happened to this place, I ate there twice last year and the their cachapas, patacones and tequeños were the best I ever had, unfortunately, I went again this year to find out their food was disgusting, in need of more seasoning and super greasy. Even the tequeños tasted different. Breaks my heart to know that this place was a great cook, but is not anymore. I don’t recommend it at all. The quality of their food is 1/10 comparing it to what they are charging the costumers
July 21 · Rafael AlonzoGot the pollo mechada chachapa. Really great flavors, decent size portion. The server was so nice and gave extra sauces. Will say it’s a little pricey, but hit the spot. Would definitely come back.
