What is truly worth choosing about Vinyl Steakhouse is its ability to expertly blend a high-end culinary experience with a fun, unconventional atmosphere. The food, particularly the steaks, is consistently praised for being delicious and cooked to perfection, with a "Cajun dry rubbed ribeye" being a popular and generously sized option. The unique and innovative sides, like the "Truffle Mac N Cheese" and "Creamed Spinach Carbonara," are a major draw, adding creative twists to classic steakhouse fare. The menu's inclusivity, offering excellent vegan and vegetarian options like the "Premium Vegan Ribeye," sets it apart from more traditional steakhouses. However, the most compelling reason to choose Vinyl Steakhouse is the music. The vinyl record collection is not just a gimmick; it's an integral part of the experience that makes the restaurant a vibrant and unforgettable place. The ability to request a record for a special occasion adds a personal touch that guests find incredibly charming. While the music can be loud, it contributes to a lively and energetic vibe that many patrons appreciate, making it a place for a fun and engaging dinner rather than a quiet, solemn one. The staff's dedication to service, going so far as to correct an overcooked steak with extra sides and a credit, shows a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. This combination of top-tier food, a memorable atmosphere, and exceptional service makes Vinyl Steakhouse a must-visit for anyone in New York looking for a dining experience that is both sophisticated and undeniably cool.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Favorite steakhouse for music lovers. Not a place for a quiet ambiance. I found the music to be fairly loud for a restaurant but not over empowering. We had a table for 4 and could still talk. You can pick a record to play on your birthday and anniversary. We heard a lot of different music from hip hop to classic rock. Anyways the food was great. The Cajun ribeye was really good and perhaps a perfect size. Big enough to share. Order the off menu carrot cake. It’s like a carrot cake brownie.
May 06 · Andrew HazelriggLoved this place! The vinyl collection on the walls is extremely impressive and really sets the mood. The burger and sides were delicious and the staff was very friendly and open to feedback as our steak was slightly overcooked, which wasn’t really an issue. Kyle was truly the best, he really helped out with the steak and we couldn’t have hoped for a better server. The only problem was the group sitting next to us who was quite literally screaming and we were severely disturbed by the extreme level of noise, which of course isn’t the restaurants fault. Other than that it was truly amazing and I would recommend this as a great dinner place to anyone!
June 10 · Ada Bolukcu10 of us came here on the hottest day in NYC after finding out our initial reservation of a rooftop restaurant has broken AC.Luckily Vinyl had space to put us in during dinner time and all other seats were taken. The vinyls on the wall caught everyone's attention and you can pick the song for the host/DJ to play on the turntable.Nice selection of drinks, appetizers and meats. I ordered the ribeye with dry rub seasoning. Nicely prepared and full of flavor, not over powering either. It goes well with a house salad. The staff is friendly, fun and efficient.
June 30 · RaySurprise find. Seriously. Get the creamed spinach carbonara, which pushes the classic creamed spinach from side dish to second male lead. You know, the one that the girl doesn't end up with but everyone else is like whyyyyy? You'll love this creamed spinach carbonara. The spinach is not blended and thus keeps its vegetal fibrous taste, necessary to stand up to the meat. The use of carbonara rather than just cream means the sauce is deeper and more complex in flavor. Because it's spinach, it still spreads on a steak slice well, but can also be on its own. Don't take giant mouthfuls; savor the deep, complex, salty, savory, vegetal, wonderful side dish. The steak is also fantastic, don't get me wrong. Cooked to a perfect medium well with high quality steak, the reverse sear is done right. The porterhouse for two would feed three normal people. I also like that they cut the steak slices New York style: thick but not too thick, you know, so it's attractive. I found the steak quite juicy and meaty as well.I also recommend the corn, which is elevated by replacing the butter with bone marrow. As a result the corn is sweet and savory, not just sweet. That's really a second great change to a classic steakhouse dish. Bone marrow has a more base, more umami fat than butter, which works well with the sweetness of the corn.As for the vibe, the music is not too loud and is nice and varied. You can have a conversation with friends here, rather than yelling as is so common in NYC nowadays. Please keep those vinyls at that level, so that you are eating chill at a great steakhouse.
August 21 · Syed AshrafullaWhat a great experience! Cool atmosphere, great food, and fantastic service! Charlie was attentive, and owner Kevin stopped by to ensure our dinner was going well! The menu had classic items and some with a twist. All were delicious. I loved the whipped ricotta appetizer.Above all, the record collection was what makes Vinyl stand out –not only does it make the decor but being able to browse the catalog of hundreds of vinyl records and pick the music made it a truly unique experience.Highly recommend!
