★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1There is a lot to say about Waka Waka chicken. I came here with my co workers at 12:30pm. I should’ve known something was off when I only saw one lady sitting alone in the restaurant. I get to the register and order a 3 piece meal with mac and cheese and fries. One of my co worker ordered the same thing as me but they told him it would be 10-20 minutes for his food. My other co worker tried to order fries but they told him they were all out. I grabbed my canned soda out of the fridge and it had a long black hair wrapped all the way around it as if one of the employees used it as an ice pack to cool down before putting it in the cooler. I go to find a table but they’re all sticky so I had to choose the least sticky of the three. My co workers come sit down and we wait for our food.My buzzer goes off and I go to get my food from the front. As soon as I grabbed my tray I noticed how sticky it was. It clung to my fingers. I go sit down at my table and try my food. The fries tasted like nothing at all. Void of any flavor. The Mac and cheese was foul and colder than my father in-law’s heart. The chicken itself was the best part of the meal but mid at best. It was extremely greasy. There was also a huge difference in the amount of chicken my co worker and I got even though we ordered the same thing. The whole time we were there they turned 5-7 people away because they didn’t have anymore food to serve. I’m not sure what’s happening at this place but it’s nothing good. I would recommend literally anywhere else.
July 31 · Zach WenzelNo complain, my food always good i love this place.the chicken katsu sandwich high recommend sometimes when i got there late i fond it sold out
June 04 · Rachid BelDon’t let the lower price and short wait lure you in—unless you enjoy chewing chicken strips like beef jerky. Took me 4 chomps on the tender just to get one bite off. Coke was flat, mood was flatter. Dipping sauces were decent, but sauce can’t save chicken that doubles as a jaw workout.
August 12 · Eric VThe grilled chicken was cold, hard and dry. It appears to be old. Disappointing- wont be going back.
July 01 · Melisa FunezCame here with some colleagues after they mentioned it was a new spot near our office. After joining the line, the first signs of trouble started to appear in the form of a woman returning to the cashier asking for a refund due to the excessive time it was taking to receive her food. We brushed it off at first, but as the line crawled forward at a glacial pace, it became clear that something was off. Several people joined the line behind us, only to give up and leave shortly after. In hindsight, we should have followed their lead…As my coworkers began placing their orders, there became a repeat pattern of the cashier having to take a pause to go run a physical ticket of the order to the cooks in the back, then taking time to deal with frustrated customers needing to resolve incorrect orders or wondering what was taking so long for their food, then finally making the circle back to the register to help the next of us; now imagine this repeated after every order for 3+ consecutive orders in a row, extending the wait considerably. While waiting for our food, we noticed that there were some other customers who were opting to toss their food to the trash after a couple of bites and uttering some choice words; again, another omen we should have taken more seriously in hindsight. When our food finally arrived, the real low point finally hit us. I had ordered a 4-piece combo with mashed potatoes and mac & cheese – not uncommon for a fried chicken joint. The chicken was dry and overcooked, rubbery in parts and sinewy in others, with an overwhelming amount of grease. The mashed potatoes tasted like industrial grade dehydrated potatoes you used to get at your public-school cafeteria: bland, unseasoned, and served with a lifeless gravy. The mac & cheese featured mushy, overcooked noodles in a watery butter ‘sauce’, devoid of anything close to actual cheese. Take all that and pair it with a stale biscuit, and you’ve got a waste of $15.As another reviewer mentioned, the eerily uncanny AI-esque art adorning the walls didn’t serve to help the experience at all. I want to attribute this subpar experience to it being a new restaurant and maybe this is a first time venture for the team, but on their website, they have the email address of Sanae Belallam as a direct contact, who I believe was involved with a modestly successful restaurant over in Finn Hall, Maui Bento Box. This just feels like a sloppy attempt at quick and easy chicken joint and I hope they seriously correct the ship from their current course of disaster. Not worth your money in their current state.
