★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The place is brightly lit and the service is abrupt. It is not particularly friendly, but it is efficient and you get what you need quickly. The food was pretty good overall. I thought the ho fan was softer than I like and the broth could have been deeper in flavor, but the shrimp wontons were enjoyable. Once I added some of the sauces, the broth also improved. In the end, it felt like a decent deal. The food is good, though I would not call it an outstanding bargain.
August 23 · Jack MaguireDecided to stop by here while exploring ChinatownWe had the crab rangoons for an appetizer- boy were these deliciousThe wonton soup was hot and flavorful- pretty decent portion; I actually wasn’t able to finish my entire bowlWe also ordered the shrimp dumplings and those were delicious, as wellOverall, good food and good service
August 14 · Ciera PerezNew wonton shop on Mott Street, well decorated with cushiony booths and bright interior. Comfortable to dine in. All these upgrades didn’t translate to pricier food or lower food quality though. Really enjoyed their stored fried beef ho fun, which has a very fresh texture and just the right flavor; and really enjoyed their wonton soup too (without noodle, $8.95). In this economy? I’ll come back in a heartbeat. My husband loved the pan fried buns, 4 sizable buns, crispy bottom and soup inside the airy buns are surprisingly good for $8; the pork rib came in a huge portion that also pleasantly surprised both of us.
May 19 · Ruby ChenI've always loved wonton noodle soup with beef brisket (五香牛腩), but I hadn't found a favorite UNTIL I tried this place. The beef brisket here is SUPERIOR, dare I say, even better than the other spots on the same street.I was hesitant at first because of some negative reviews online, but the dishes we ordered were very delicious. Honestly, I never trust ratings on Chinese restaurants lol.The restaurant is clean, modern, and has a decent bathroom (always a plus). It was packed when I went on a Friday, with a good mix of Chinese locals and tourists.*Spiced Beef Brisket 五香牛腩 $11.95 **Both the lean brisket and tendon were very tender and full of five spiced flavor. We didn't waste a drop of the sauce, scooping up every last bit and drizzling it over our fried rice.I only wish they offered the beef tendon on its own. The jelly-like texture had me hooked.*Wonton Soup 淨雲吞湯 $8.95The pork and shrimp filling had a nice bounce, wrapped in a thin wonton skin. The wontons were on the smaller side. While wonton soup is their signature dish, I found the wontons tasty but they didn't wow me. I still prefer the ones from Maxi's and Superior in Brooklyn.*Singapore Chow Mei Fun 星洲炒米 $14.95 **Shrimp Fried Rice 蝦炒飯 $15.95A HK cafe classic -- stir-fried vermicelli noodle tossed in curry powder, shrimps, char siu, and bean sprouts. The fried rice was flavorful and full of wok hei.Safe to say, you can't go wrong with their 炒粉麵飯 (stir-fried noodles and rice dishes). Portions were generous that we had plenty of leftovers to take home.
July 01 · Ruby ChanDelicious Wonton Noodles!Great value and a generous portion—fast, flavorful, and satisfying. The broth was aromatic, the duck tender, and the wontons plump and juicy. We also enjoyed the steamed dumplings and spring rolls—truly finger‑licking good. Service was efficient, and we were seated quickly. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving quality Cantonese-style wonton noodle soup.
