★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I was starving after a couple of days of more liquid than substance diet! Choices in the area were limited and what I really needed was comfort food. The weather in New York is still chilly which meant either a chicken burger (yes the fried type) or some good Chinese food.Yeh’s Bao Chinese Restaurant was what the doctor ordered. Plenty of choices without being overwhelming. They have a good lunch selection which could have done the trick had had not seen the bubbling box of delight that was my Hot Pot delivered to another table.I was going to be rather piggish and have the Xiolang Bao (soup dumplings) and the hot pot. But after what was maybe the best hot and sour soup I had in years (full vegetarian), I had to call off the Baos. They are freshly made to order, so had time to get the dumpling maker to cease! I just have to head back soon for the next fix.The service was attentive and very cordial. I did not have to ask for my water and rice was offered without me asking! The price was amazing considering the quantity and quality. After two days of $20 sliders, that dish was over the top and super reasonable. It will feed 2 amply, what you do not get with sliders. The hotpot was amazing. The broth was so tangy and rich. The fresh vegetables swam on top of a layer of thin sliced and somewhat fatty beef and glass noodles. I had requested hot oil, but in reality the velveteen sauce was pungent enough to light up my taste buds.I do not know that alone I could have done justice to the Hot Pot and Bao and I am craving more after two hours. No it is not there is more space in the stomach, but more imagining the gushing liquid from these little parcels of wonder.I cannot wait to go back. In ways, I kind of wanted to keep this place a secret a bit longer, but the owners deserve to get the foot traffic!
April 17 · Genevieve LeveilleTheir food is delicious and comes very quickly. I had the shrimp soup dumplings and the general Tso’s chicken. Both were of large quantity, as was the chicken fried rice. Definitely great to share. I would definitely recommend as it is an amazing Chinese restaurant.
May 18 · Aarush RohitI had the best chicken lo mein that I’ve ever eaten! She flavorful and addicting. We came back the next night. My husband’s fried rice was excellent. Such friendly staff and they provided us with a few treats because we had to wait for our food. Will definitely come back next time we are in Manhattan.
May 05 · Bobbi MontoyaBest soup dumplings in town☺️ They always remind me of the flavors I loved as a kid. The crispy duck is quite nice as well. Walk-ins are fine. and we usually go around noon on weekends. It’s quieter and less crowded at that time. Be sure to grab a window seat and enjoy!😇
January 28 · Nancy YenI’ve had a lot of soup dumplings in my time and these ones really stood out. Just the right amount of soup at the right temperature . Super delicious and very good value for money. Portions are great and heaps of good options on the menu. Definitely would come back!
