What is worth choosing from All’antico Vinaio, and why? All’antico Vinaio stands out in the crowded New York food scene for its unwavering commitment to authenticity and quality, which is immediately apparent in their star ingredient: the schiacciata bread. This is not your average sandwich roll; it's a thick, airy, and crispy flatbread that provides the perfect vehicle for their generous fillings. The sandwiches are a testament to the idea that simple, high-quality ingredients can create something truly extraordinary. For instance, their menu features standout items like "La Favolosa," which is a perfect example of their masterful combinations, blending savory prosciutto, creamy pecorino, and truffle cream to create a rich and unforgettable flavor profile. Another excellent choice is "La Schiacciata Del Boss," a sandwich known for its robust and satisfying ingredients. The menu also includes a nod to its American home with "The New Yorker," a unique creation that combines classic Italian tastes with a local twist, making it a must-try for both locals and visitors. While customer reviews occasionally mention inconsistencies or issues, these instances seem to be the exception rather than the rule. The general consensus remains that the quality and flavor of the sandwiches are top-tier. The sheer size of the sandwiches is also a major draw; they are substantial enough to be a complete meal, offering great value for the price. The fillings are abundant, and the flavors are bold and well-balanced. The experience of choosing a sandwich from their extensive list, each with its own unique story and combination of ingredients, is part of the fun. The casual and bustling atmosphere adds to the charm, making it feel less like a transaction and more like a little piece of Florence right here in New York City. The brand's international reputation is built on a foundation of genuine Italian craftsmanship and a passion for good food, which is precisely what makes it worth choosing. It's a place where you can get a quick, delicious, and truly authentic Italian sandwich that will leave you feeling completely satisfied. The dedication to replicating the Florentine experience is palpable, from the moment you step in to the very last bite of your sandwich. This is why All'antico Vinaio continues to be a go-to spot for those in the know, offering a consistent and high-quality product that stands out from the competition. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The Odd Couple sandwich had string/twine ground up with the meat. At first I thought it was connective tissue, but the more I chewed the more synthetic it felt and it wasn’t breaking down. I spit it out and took a closer look and it was actually twine… It’s unfortunate, the flavor was good but I couldn’t enjoy eating the rest of it, each bite I took I was worried I’d eat more twine (and there was more).
August 02 · Kristine ZhangHit or miss spot! Today was definitely not the right day to visit All’Antico Vinaio. The schiacciata was disappointingly thin, with just one—maybe two—slices of mortadella and barely any pistachio spread. Absolutely unacceptable! This location lacks consistency in how they fill their schiacciata—one day it's decent, the next it's barely filled.😒 AVOID AT ALL COST
July 12 · Rocco LatorreWe first found this place in Florence. My husband just asked what the best sandwich would be and took the recommendation. He took one bite, then another and said “you need to taste this”. I did, of course, and I couldn’t even describe it. It may well have been the best food combination I ever have tasted! It resonated with me in such a wonderful way. We continued back and forth with that sandwich. While we chatted with tourists from Switzerland. The pic above is from an -All’antico Vinaio pop up on Manhattan. We couldn’t believe our luck to come across it. Here too the food was amazing. The staff were friendly offered great recommendations and made our sandwiches with expert speed and finesse. We hatted with man from New York who frequents Florence for its fine leather. This is the magic of good food- the enjoyment of the flavors, the comfort of the food, creates a shared experience that transcends barriers, foster connections and transform the unfamiliar into fond memories. Was that simple sandwich in Florence life changing? Maybe. It definitely enhanced ours!
June 20 · J_“Paradiso” is definitely my favorite. The combo is insane: silky mortadella, rich stracciatella (the creamy heart of burrata), and generous pistachio cream with crushed pistachios. The flavor balance is unreal — sweet, salty, nutty, and buttery all at once.I’d go back just for this.
May 12 · EAll’Antico Vinaio is already one my favorite places to go and it just became better because only this specific location have limited supply of gluten free bread! By having gluten free bread, my gf loves this place even more as she would before just order something without the bread. If you are gluten free and been wanting to try this place, please take the time to come here and call ahead to see if they still have gluten free bread! From what I recall, there ingredients are imported from Italy and is probably why I love the freshness of it and tastes like my time I visited Italy. My two go-tos will forever be La Summer and La District. Simple choices but filled with the freshness and deliciousness of cured meats. Also, the service was outstanding especially caring for my gf’s allergy and they were kind throughout time waiting for our sandwiches.
